ANG Newspapers, reports Oakland Raiders CB Nnamdi Asomugha (eye) should be fine to practice Wednesday, Oct. 21, but he will wear a protective shield in his helmet in Week 7.
The Huddle Take: If Ashomugha plays against the Jets, he'll likely be attached to Braylon Edwards all day. And that can't be good for Edwards owners.

Jerry McDonald, of ANG Newspapers, reports Oakland Raiders CB Nnamdi Asomugha vowed he would play in Week 1. Asomugha's wrist injury will not require surgery, although he may need to wear a soft cast.
The Huddle Take: The Raiders have enough issues without having to wonder about the availability of the league's top cover corner. Asomugha isn't much of an IDP helper because few quarterbacks bother to even challenge him, but he does shut down one side of the field for the Raiders.

Updating a previous report, ESPN reports Oakland Raiders CB Nnamdi Asomugha (wrist) is expected to play in Week 1 despite having a chipped bone in his wrist, according to a team source.
The Huddle Take: Asomugha is one of the best corners in the league, and still will be even with only one good wrist. Those of you who picked Philip Rivers and/or Vincent Jackson and assume they'll put up huge numbers simply because they play the Raiders in Week 1 will likely be disappointed.

ESPN.com reports Oakland Raiders CB Nnamdi Asomugha, who is an impending free agent, said he probably will receive the franchise tag this offseason.
The Huddle Take: The Raiders will have to decide whether to lock down the best cover corner in football for at least one more season—and word has it they're considering the exclusive franchise tag that would prevent other teams from even talking to Asomugha—or franchise their punter. Seems like a pretty clear-cut decision... but don't forget, Al Davis is calling the shots.
