Atlanta Falcons DE Osi Umenyiora wants to remain with the team next season. 'I would love to stay, and I think I am,' Umenyiora said. 'But you really never know what's going to happen.' He'll count $4.75 million against the salary cap in 2014 after leading the team with 7.5 sacks in 2013. Umenyiora is also due a $1 million roster bonus in mid-March, and releasing him would save the team $3.5 million against the cap. He wouldn't say if he'd be willing to take a pay cut.
Huddle Up: After tying for 29th in the league with only 32 total sacks, it's hard to envision the Falcons simply letting their sack leader walk, but at the same time, the franchise does need the cap room to rebuild from the major disappointment (4-12) of this past season. The best guess is that Umenyiora stays in Atlanta with a slightly restructured deal.

Updating a previous report, the Atlanta Falcons have agreed to terms with free-agent DE Osi Umenyiora (Giants) on a two-year deal.
Huddle Up: This had been in the works for a while as Umenyiora will fill the pass-rushing gap vacated by the release of John Abraham. To do so, Umenyiora will have to bounce back from a 6-sack season in 2012 -- his lowest output aside from his 1-sack rookie year.
