The Colorado Springs Gazette reports Denver Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels said the game plan in Week 11 will not change if QB Chris Simms has to start in place of QB Kyle Orton (ankle).
The Huddle Take: The game plan may not change, but your Fantasy expectations sure should, at least based on the egg Simms laid when he relieved Orton against Washington. If you own Brandon Marshall, you've got to be concerned, since Simms will probably be the starter against San Diego. Roll with Marshall if you must and hope for the best, but if you have any other reasonable option at WR give it serious consideration.

The Associated Press reports Denver Broncos QB Kyle Orton (ankle) was not starting after halftime because of an ankle injury. Orton came up hobbling on a scramble right before halftime. When he returned to the sidelines in the second half, his left ankle was heavily taped. The Broncos say his return is doubtful. QB Chris Simms has replaced Orton.
The Huddle Take: Just when you thought the Broncos were headed the right way they go on a losing streak and now have problems with the health of their quarterback Kyle Orton. Chris Simms came in to replace the injured Orton but completed only 3 of 13 passes for 13 yards in the game. Orton will be evaluated further on Monday to determine the extent of his injury.

Adam Schefter, of ESPN.com, reports Denver Broncos QB Chris Simms sustained a high-ankle sprain, according to a team source, and could be out of action anywhere from two to four weeks.
The Huddle Take: Looks like Kyle Orton's grip on the starting job in Denver just got tighter.

Daniel Williams, of The Denver Daily News, reports Denver Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels said QB Chris Simms still has a chance to win the starting job.
The Huddle Take: This is mildly surprising news, since most observers probably assumed Kyle Orton was going to be under center in Week 1. But McDaniels is definitely keeping the door open for Simms. “We’re going to evaluate the quarterbacks just like we do every other position, and if Chris is the most effective quarterback in our system by September, then he’ll start,” McDaniels told the paper.

The Denver Post reports Broncos QB Chris Simms worked with the first-team offense during the first part of practice Sunday, April 19, while QB Kyle Orton worked with the first-team offense for the second part of practice.
The Huddle Take: Let the battle begin! Fantasy-wise, it's difficult to get excited about either quarterback; however, one needs to demonstrate competence in order to ensure the fantasy value of Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal.

The Denver Post reports Broncos QB Kyle Orton's experience will give him an advantage for the starting job over QB Chris Simms.
The Huddle Take: Orton has a positive TD-to-INT ratio, which has to be considered a plus, but Simms has the higher career completion percentage. It all boils down to which quarterback fits Josh McDaniels' myopic view of what a quarterback can and should do.

The Denver Post reports Broncos QB Kyle Orton and QB Chris Simms will compete for the team's starting quarterback job, according to head coach Josh McDaniels.
The Huddle Take: It's not like the Broncos had stability with a young Pro Bowler at the position... oh, wait, they did. There's also a distinct possibility the Broncos will take a long, hard look at the likes of Matthew Stafford, Mark Sanchez, and even Josh Freeman should they be options in the upcoming draft.

Updating a previous report, the Denver Broncos have announced they have signed unrestricted free-agent QB Chris Simms. Terms of the contract were not disclosed but an earlier report stated it is a two-year deal.
The Huddle Take: Simms replaces Patrick Ramsey as the backup to Jay Cutler... or maybe he gives Josh McDaniel the system quarterback he needs, allowing the Broncos to deal Cutler. Hey, why not stir the pot a little?

The Chicago Sun-Times reports the Bears are expected to be interested in Tennessee Titans QB Chris Simms, who is an impending free-agent, this offseason.
The Huddle Take: If the Titans retain Kerry Collins then keeping Simms around would not be a priority. The Bears, meanwhile, have openly discussed bringing in competition for Kyle Orton.
