Carolina Panthers RB Kenjon Barner (foot) is back at practice Tuesday, Sept. 24.

Huddle Up: Even with Jonathan Stewart also missing the first 3 games, the Panthers have been strong on the ground, ranking only behind the Eagles so far in rushing yards (151) per game. So between RBs DeAngelo Williams, Mike Tolbert and QB Cam Newton, there are only limited touches available for the rookie when he does come back.

Carolina Panthers RB Kenjon Barner (foot) did not participate in practice Friday, Sept. 6, and has been ruled out. CB James Dockery (thumb) was limited in practice and has been ruled out for Week 1.

Huddle Up: Barner, the team's 6rh-round pick out of Oregon, showed some preseason flashes and was set to be the No. 2 back behind starter DeAngelo Williams. Now, however, look for Williams and FB Mike Tolbert to get a few extra touches.

Carolina Panthers RB Kenjon Barner (foot) suffered a foot injury during the team's preseason game Thursday, Aug. 22, and will not return.

Huddle Up: Barner, a 5th-round pick out of Oregon who's currently running No. 2 on the RB depth chart with Jonathan Stewart out, has showed some flashes, entering the game with 42 yards rushing and a TD on 15 attempts and 16 yards receiving on 3 catches. He added 17 more yards on 3 touches before leaving Thursday's contest with the foot issue -- seemingly the injury du jour this preseason -- and it's going to be wait and see on the rookie's status going forward.

Carolina Panthers RB Kenjon Barner has impressed his teammates in camp and has the ability to hide behind blockers while waiting for a crease to open. He has been utilized in the passing game as well. He hasn't spent a lot of time with the returners, which is a sign they plan to use him in the offense.

Huddle Up: The Panthers already-crowded backfield gets even more so, but Barner brings a unique element to the mix--namely his speed. He'll likely handle some return duties as Carolina looks to get him on to the field, but significant touches will be tough to come by in a mix that already includes DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart, and Mike Tolbert.
