The National Football Post, reports Houston Texans WR Kevin Walter agreed to a five-year contract worth more than $21 million, according to league sources with knowledge of the situation.
The Huddle Take: The Texans feel that Walter is the complement that they need opposite of Andre Johnson in their offensive plans for the future and this contract signifies just that. Walter should be viewed as a solid No. 3 wideout with the potential to be a No. 2 for fantasy teams with the Houston offense improving each season.

The Houston Chronicle reports Houston Texans WR Kevin Walter likely will see more passes thrown to him because of the season-ending injury to TE Owen Daniels (knee).
The Huddle Take: This only stands to reason, and owners of Walter hope it to be the case, as he's been disappointing so far to say the least. However, the options behind Daniels at tight end were slim, so Walter should see a bump of some sort.

The Associated Press reports Houston Texans WR Kevin Walter had seven receptions for 96 yards with a touchdown Week 3.
The Huddle Take: Good news as Walter appears healthy now and is a critical part of the Houston passing game. With him in there QB Matt Schaub and the entire offense performs at a higher level.

Houston Texans WR Kevin Walter (hamstring) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 18. He is listed as questionable for the team's Week 2 game and will be a game-time decision.
The Huddle Take: Jacoby Jones and David Anderson will likely see more passes thrown their way if Walter can't go.

Houston Texans WR Kevin Walter (hamstring) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 17. He should start in the team's Week 2 game.
The Huddle Take: The Texans could certainly use Walter back in the lineup as the Houston offense has sputtered without him. Fantasy owners should consider him worthy of starting as a No. 2 wideout with upside.
Posted: 9/11/2009 10:54am et
Updating previous items, Drew Dougherty, of HoustonTexans.com, reports Houston Texans WR Kevin Walter worked with head athletic trainer Geoff Kaplan Thursday, Sept. 10. There is still a chance Walter will be able to play Week 1. Head coach Gary Kubiak said, "Kevin is a player that can play well without practicing. I think it's going to be really close, whether or not he'll be ready to go. We'll probably work him out before the game. He knows what we're doing. He's a sharp guy. So we'll have to make a smart decision with him."
The Huddle Take: And there it is, fantasy fans: your first "game-time decision" of the new season. Those of you banking on Walter this week need to tune in to the pregame news source of your choice (such as The Huddle's "Game Day Inactives & Injuries Report") on Sunday morning for the final word on Walter's availability.

Houston Texans WR Kevin Walter did not participate in practice Thursday, Sept. 10.
The Huddle Take: If Walter can't go in the Texans' season opener Andre Davis, David Anderson, and Jacoby Jones would step in opposite Andre Johnson.
Posted: 9/1/2009 10:29pm et
The Houston Chronicle reports Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said WR Kevin Walter (hamstring) is considered day-to-day for the team's Week 1 game.
The Huddle Take: Walter tweaked his hamstring so probably won't play, but most starters play little to none in the last preseason game anyway, so it is actually a good thing for Walter if he doesn't play, but instead rests his hammy to get ready for the games that count.

ESPN reports Houston Texans WR Kevin Walter (hamstring) tweaked his hamstring during the team's preseason game Monday, Aug. 31.
The Huddle Take: It would be nice if just one season the entire Houston offense could stay healthy, because it would be an amazing thing. Hamstrings are nasty buggers and this could limit Walter for a while. He likely will start the season, but could be hampered considerably for a few weeks. Slides his value down just a bit.
Posted: 7/1/2009 9:34pm et
HoustonTexans.com reports Houston Texans WR Kevin Walter said he has been working on his stiff arm and other moves to try to get more yards after the catch this season.
The Huddle Take: Walter has emerged in recent seasons as a solid compliment to No. 1 wideout Andre Johnson in the Texans offense. Fantasy owners looking for a nice No. 3 or No. 4 receiver could do far worse than selecting Walter with a middle-round draft pick since he is likely to draw single-coverage from opposing defenses and will work opposite Johnson in this offense.
