Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald is not participating in the voluntary team practice Tuesday, April 23.
Huddle Up: No worries: Fitz was excused from the opening day of minicamp but is expected to participate on Wednesday, April 24.
Posted: 3/19/2013 11:57am et
There is no chance the Arizona Cardinals will trade WR Larry Fitzgerald, as they are more than happy with the receiver, and it would cost them a $15 million salary cap hit.
Huddle Up: Fitz is the face of the franchise, and the onus is on the Cards to build around him. Step No. 1, of course, is finding a QB that can get the veteran WR the ball and allow him to make the most of his talents.
Posted: 1/23/2013 12:45am et
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald will play in the 2013 Pro Bowl for the NFC squad this weekend as a replacement for Chicago Bears WR Brandon Marshall (hip). This will be Fitzgerald's seventh Pro Bowl selection, which is the most by an offensive player in Cardinals history.
Huddle Up: Larry Fitz certainly has been Hawaii-worthy in most of his 9 seasons, but 2012 definitely wasn't one of them as he suffered as a result of the Cards' serious QB issues, catching only 71 passes for 798 yards and 4 TDs while hitting career lows in yards per reception (11.2) and scoring catches.
Posted: 12/29/2012 10:40pm et
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald shrugged off how difficult it was to have had four different quarterbacks when asked about it this week. 'Probably not as difficult as it would be to play with six,' Fitzgerald said. Despite just 69 grabs for 785 yards, a down year by his standards, Fitzgerald was named a Pro Bowl alternate.
Huddle Up: Fitz's struggles weren't so funny to fantasy owners who received only 10 catches for 89 yards and no scores during a crucial 5-game stretch from Week 11-15. If Fitzgerald is still on an Arizona squad without some strong potential at QB next season, his fantasy draft stock will deservedly plummet.
Posted: 12/12/2012 12:02am et
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald doesn't think the team has quit on their season, despite his father thinking otherwise. 'We're professionals. That will never happen,' Fitzgerald said. 'We're going to continue to play. We're going to continue to practice. We're going to continue to prepare every week like we would if we had won nine games in a row. That's not going to change. We're not going to quit.' Fitzgerald had just one catch for two yards in Week 14 and has only 652 yards on the season.
Huddle Up: In the the meantime, the majority of Fitz's fantasy owners have had no choice but to give up on starting the high draft pick, who has borne the brunt of the team's QB disaster with only 6 catches for 67 yards and no TDs over the past 4 games.
Posted: 12/7/2012 11:00pm et
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald expects to be shadowed by Seattle Seahawks CB Richard Sherman in the Week 14 game, as CB Brandon Browner is serving a suspension. 'I would anticipate that, if I were a betting man,' Fitzgerald said Friday, Dec. 7.
Huddle Up: Fantasy owners, meanwhile, are betting on a marked uptick in Firzgerald's stats with John Skelton reinstated as the Cards' starter this week. In the past 3 games with rookie QB Ryan Lindley predominately under center, Fitzgerald only has 5 catches for 65 yards and no TDs, which, in previous seasons, would've constituted a normal first half for the wideout.
Posted: 10/30/2012 10:52am et
Updating a previous report, Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald posted five catches for 52 yards in Week 8 against the San Francisco 49ers. He left the game on two occasions, once due to a head injury and league-mandated concussion testing, and another time after getting something in his eye.
Huddle Up: It was a rough night for Fitz, who was in and out of the game and subjected to the Cardinals' abysmal quarterbacking when he was on the field. The very real concern for the talented Fitzgerald is that neither his schedule nor Arizona's quarterback play look to improve any time soon.
Posted: 10/22/2012 3:34pm et
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald was not thrown to when he went deep in Week 7 because the Minnesota Vikings kept a safety behind Fitzgerald the entire game. QB John Skelton said he believes future opponents will use that scheme to try to stop Fitzgerald. 'I think a lot of teams are going to start looking at it that way and play coverage over the top,' Skelton said. 'Weve got to find other ways to get the ball down the field.'
Huddle Up: Thus, when the Cardinals are playing catch-up, enter Andre Roberts. Good numbers between the Cardinals receiving duo, but either one of them can deal you a bad hand on any given week.
Posted: 10/1/2012 2:43pm et
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald caught a pass in his 121st straight game in Week 4 against the Miami Dolphins, tying the franchise record set by Mel Gray. It is the second longest active streak in the league behind Atlanta Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez (183).
Huddle Up: An amazing accomplishment considering some of the QBs he has endured.
Posted: 9/18/2012 2:21pm et
Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt said he plans to get WR Larry Fitzgerald more involved in the offense after his star receiver had only one catch for four yards in the team's Week 2 win over the New England Patriots. 'Larry is going to have his catches,' Whisenhunt said. 'We're certainly going to make sure we work on that.'
Huddle Up: Fitz's 5 catches for 67 yards and no TDs on 16 targets so far simply isn't cutting it for fantasy GMs who plugged the Arizona stud into their fantasy lineups as their No. 1 WR. With the Kevin Kolb-John Skelton act still playing out, there hasn't been any stability or consistency at QB, but those issues have never seemed to adversely affect Fitzgerald's stats before. Bank on Fitzgerald's talent and track record and stick with the wideout unless your'e loaded at the position.

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald managed just one catch for four yards in Week 2 against the New England Patriots. That's the fewest yards he's had in a game since 2004, his rookie year. The Patriots double-teamed No. 11 for most of the game, forcing others to beat them.
Huddle Up: It's disconcerting that a secondary like New England's, which was among the worst in the league last year, is able to completely shut down an elite receiver like Fitzgerald. The only positive is that the Patriots lost the game, so perhaps other teams won't follow New England's recipe and Fitz can return to his usual perch among the top NFL receivers.

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald posted nine catches and 149 yards in the regular-season finale against the Seattle Seahawks, the team's Week 1 opponent. Fitzgerald has 102 receptions for 1,371 yards against the Seahawks, his top marks against any one franchise.
Huddle Up: Fitzgerald isn't the No. 1-rated fantasy wideout this season -- that honor goes to the Lions' Calvin Johnson -- but the Arizona standout is once again is a top-5 WR starter, no matter who the opponent is. His track record against the Seahawks is the icing on the fantasy cake.

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald had five catches for 91 yards in limited play against the Tennessee Titans Thursday, Aug. 23.
Huddle Up: Fantasy owners are concerned about Fitzgerald given the Cardinals' quarterback uncertainty, but he put up 80-1,411-8 last year with the same cast of characters. Moreover, Fitz had more opportunities and more success with John Skelton at the helm and right now Skelton is the favorite to beat out Kevin Kolb for the starting gig.

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald said Wednesday, July 18, that Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson is a superior fantasy option than Fitzgerald due to their quarterback situations.
Huddle Up: The public agrees too. Fitzgerald's ADP is around the mid-2nd round while Megatron almost never drops past picks 1.11 or 1.12.

Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald said he is happy to be considered among the best players in the league; however, after eight seasons, Fitzgerald is in search of a championship. 'I've completed eight NFL seasons, and while I am somewhat satisfied with personal achievements, I have come close only once to achieving the ultimate team goal,' Fitzgerald wrote on his Facebook page. 'Being a productive wide receiver is no longer enough. I've grown into a position of leadership as a Cardinals team captain and have tried to expand my role as a mentor and example for our core of young players. My sincere hope is that we can get back to the playoffs on a regular basis and become Super Bowl Champions.'
Huddle Up: He and Kurt Warner almost single-handedly dragged the Cards to Super Bowl XLIII but they came up short. At this point in his career Fitzgerald is still in his prime (turns 29 in August) and is about to blow past the 10,000 career-yards mark. Six Pro Bowls, six 1000-yard seasons so far, plus a NFL-record 30 catches, 546 yards and seven TDs in one single postseason. His Hall of Fame ticket has already been pre-printed, he just needs a ring to get him into first-ballot territory.
