The St. Petersburg Times reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Kellen Winslow will be used extensively in the team's offense this year. Offensive coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski believes in a widespread use of his tight ends. The Buccaneers have a thin group of wide receivers that do not have a lot of experience, so the Buccaneers believe Winslow can help fill the gap and essentially serve as a third receiver. Winslow is playing at tight end and splitting out wide. He has also impressed his teammates with his catching ability and route running.
The Huddle Take: Talent has never been an issue with Winslow; it's his ability to stay healthy that has thus far stunted his career. Whomever the Bucs roll with at quarterback will have limited NFL experience, and those passers often turn to their tight end as an easy checkdown. In other words, everything is in place for Winslow to put up the kind of numbers we've been expecting since he was a top-10 draft pick.

ESPN.com, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Kellen Winslow's new six-year deal is worth $36.1 million and includes $20.1 million in guaranteed money, according to his agent Drew Rosenhaus. The deal could be worth as much as $42.1 million if all incentives are met.
The Huddle Take: The Bucs clearly have a new found emphasis to utilize the short-passing game even more than last season as signified by the signing of Kellen Winslow during the offseason. Winslow should once again be a significant factor for fantasy football teams as a No. 1 tight end for leagues that utilize this position.

PewterReport.com, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris said TE Kellen Winslow decided not to participate in practice Wednesday, April 1, because it was voluntary. Morris said there is nothing physically wrong with Winslow.
The Huddle Take: Not really the best way to get off on the right foot with your new team but what else is new for the newly acquired tight end. Fantasy owners should still view Winslow as a solid No. 1 tight end option for fantasy teams as the Bucs will likely have a new quarterback and utilize the short passing game even more than last season.

The Associated Press reports the Tampa Bay Buccaneers sent the Cleveland Browns a second-round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft and a fifth-round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft in exchange for TE Kellen Winslow.
The Huddle Take: Terms of the trade were not disclosed initially; now, we know.

The NFL Network reports the Cleveland Browns have traded TE Kellen Winslow to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for undisclosed draft picks.
The Huddle Take: Winslow and the Browns were often at odds, and early word out of Tampa is that the team is working on a contract extension. When healthy and happy, Winslow is among the most productive players at his position; achieving both has been a problem thus far in his NFL career.

The Medina County Gazette reports Cleveland Browns TE Kellen Winslow (ankle) has been ruled out of the team's Week 16 game and likely will miss Week 17. He did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 17.
The Huddle Take: The Browns will also be without Steve Heiden, meaning the tight end reps will go to Darnell Dinkins and rookie Martin Rucker.

The NFL Network reports Cleveland Browns TE Kellen Winslow (ankle) said he is unsure if he will play again this season.
The Huddle Take: There's not much left of the season, and there's not much reason for Winslow to come back to the struggling Browns. Missing the rest of the season was mentioned as a possibility when Winslow initially suffered the injury, and that's looking more and more likely.

The Medina County Gazette reports Cleveland Browns TE Kellen Winslow (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 11. He will not play in the team's Week 15 game.
The Huddle Take: The Browns have had more problems than they could overcome in 2008 and the injury to Winslow is just one such dilemma. If your fantasy team utililzes the tight end position and your regular starter is Winslow it may be time to cut the veteran tight end especially if your fantasy league championship is in
Week 16.

The Medina County Gazette reports Cleveland Browns TE Kellen Winslow (ankle) missed the team's practice Friday, Dec. 5, and he is out for Week 14.
The Huddle Take: Winslow, how has been very durable and battled through many injuries the past two seasons, has been ruled out for Week 14 and may miss the rest of the regular season. If you have Winslow and utilize the tight end position then consider other options as the veteran tight end may not be of any use at the time of the year when you need his production the most.

The Medina County Gazette reports Cleveland Browns TE Kellen Winslow (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 4. He will not play in the team's Week 14 game.
The Huddle Take: Steve Heiden will take Winslow's place once again, but with Ken Dorsey now the starting quarterback, you can't count on the Cleveland passing game functioning at all on the road against Tennessee.
