ESPN Radio 1000 in Chicago reports Chicago Bears DL Tommie Harris has been suspended one game for breaking an unspecified team rule.
The Huddle Take: This could make a marginal difference in the Lions' offensive output this week, but an earlier report stated Kevin Smith and Rudi Johnson will likely split their carries 50-50 this week. Neither of them is worth a fantasy start. With Harris' absence, marginally upgrade Jon Kitna, Roy Williams and Calvin Johnson.

The Chicago Tribune reports the Bears medical staff has expressed concern the knee injury suffered by DL Tommie Harris (knee) is more serious than originally thought, according to a source.
The Huddle Take: The loss of Harris from the Bears' front wall for any significant amount of time would be a blow to a defense widely regarded as one of the most helpful in all of fantasy football.

The Chicago Bears have signed veteran defensive tackle Tommie Harris to a new four-year contract extension worth $40 million which includes $18 million in guaranteed money. The contract extension makes Harris the top-paid defensive tackle in the NFL.
The Huddle Take: Harris has been a beast on the Chicago defensive line since coming into the league in 2004 out of Oklahoma. The new contract will lock up Harris as the cornerstone on the defensive line through 2012 and give the Bears one of the most dominant pass rushing linemen in the league for the foreseeable future.
