ESPN.com reports St. Louis Rams RB Steven Jackson needs 81 more rushing yards and no touchdowns to break the record set by former NFL RB Tiki Barber (715) for the most rushing yards to open a regular season without scoring a touchdown.

The Huddle Take: If you're a Jackson owner, at least you can say to your fellow owners you could be a part of history. But seeing how his opponent this week is the Lions, it's hard to imagine it taking Jackson 81 yards before he sees the end zone.

The Associated Press reports St. Louis Rams RB Steven Jackson had 23 carries for a season-high 134 yards during the team's Week 7 game.

The Huddle Take: Jackson finally showed the skills and had some fantasy production that made him a top fantasy draft pick heading into the season. However, don't expect too many games like this since the Rams usually fall behind early and have to throw alot in order to try and catch up.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports St. Louis Rams RB Steven Jackson is not happy about his production so far this season because he has not reached the end zone yet. 'It's been a rough one in my opinion,' Jackson said. 'I've yet to reach the end zone. I have two fumbles on the year. ... So although I've been racking up yards, I've yet to lead this team to victory. And those kinds of mistakes that I've had in the last five games won't help.' Jackson currently ranks fourth in the league with 451 rushing yards.

The Huddle Take: Jackson's Fantasy owners are also livid. But things have a great chance at getting better this week as the Rams face a vulnerable Jacksonville defense. Plus, Marc Bulger should be back under center, which should give Jackson a good shot at posting much better numbers.

The Associated Press reports St. Louis Rams RB Steven Jackson had 17 carries for 104 yards during the team's Week 2 game. He also caught four passes, but he managed just 15 receiving yards.

The Huddle Take: The only bright spot for the Rams offense was Jackson's performance in Week 2 which should continue to struggle for points unless the passing game can find some consistency. Fantasy owners should probably expect more defenses to concentrate on putting eight or nine men in the box to shut down the running game until Marc Bulger can start hitting his receivers more often.

The News-Democrat reports the St. Louis Rams are looking to run the ball more after RB Steven Jackson had just 16 carries in Week 1. Jackson expects opposing defenses to stack the box with eight men all season as the team tries to break in a young receiving corps. 'That's going to be my mindset for all 16 games that we have,'' Jackson said. 'I anticipate defenses going with eight men in the box for the rest of the year because we are just so young at the receiver position.''

The Huddle Take: The more Jackson carries the ball, the more of a chance he has to get hurt. That's true with any running back, obviously, but it seems to be more the case with Jackson. You drafted Jackson high so play him, but he'll have tough sledding against a Redskin D-line anchored by Albert Haynesworth -- no matter how many more carries he gets.

St. Louis Rams RB Steven Jackson (hamstring) fully participated in practice Tuesday, Dec. 23.

The Huddle Take: In case there was any doubt, he will be in the lineup Sunday. Atlanta gives up a few rushing yards, so Jackson's value will be solid in the final game.

St. Louis Rams RB Steven Jackson (hamstring) could be limited in practice this week but is expected to play in the team's Week 17 game.

The Huddle Take: Again one of the biggest disappointments in Fantasy Football, Jackson's value has taken a dramatic hit this season. There's no reason to think he won't be around when you're looking for a No. 2 running back in next season's draft.

The Associated Press reports St. Louis Rams RB Steven Jackson (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury during the first half of the team's Week 16 game but was able to return to start the second half.

The Huddle Take: Jackson was once again injured but returned to the field to finish the game in Week 16 against the San Francisco 49ers. The first-round draft pick for fantasy owners this year has widely disappointed but did manage to put together 108 rushing yards and 11 receiving yards in the game despite the injury.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports St. Louis Rams RB Steven Jackson (quadriceps) said he expects to carry a bigger workload in Week 14 versus the Arizona Cardinals after having 22 touches in Week 13. 'I was able to practice full-go the last two days, and the leg feels really good,' Jackson said. 'I'd like to definitely be on the field on third-down situations and make their defense play honest and not so much them playing against the pass so heavily or against the run. We want to keep them as balanced on defense as much as possible.'

The Huddle Take: Arizona does give up some yards, so if Jackson can handle it he should have plenty of chances. Expect the team to try to get him 35-30 carries at a minimum, in what could become a shootout. He'll also likely have a few catches which could lead to a score, so he's a solid threat at least for one week.

St. Louis Rams RB Steven Jackson (quadriceps) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 5. He is listed as probable for the team's Week 14 game and expects to get a bigger workload.

The Huddle Take: If Jackson has a big game on the road against Arizona, then you should be able to trust him for the remainder of your playoff run.
