The Chicago Sun-Times reports Chicago Bears RB Kevin Jones (ankle) is out for the season with a torn ligament in his left ankle.
The Huddle Take: There was a lot of upside for Jones this season even as back up to Matt Forte, especially with fantasy owners handcuffing as insurance for the star. This could be the end of the line for Jones' career, as he'd fought back for more than two years after his last injury. Adrian Peterson - the other AP - could move back into the backup role, but Garrett Wolfe is worth watching as well. The guess is the next best 'handcuff' for Forte would be Wolfe at this point.

The National Football Post, reports Chicago Bears RB Kevin Jones (ankle) was taken from the sideline to the locker room on a cart Thursday, Sept. 3, after suffering an ankle injury in the preseason finale.
The Huddle Take: This is certainly a familiar occurance with Kevin Jones sustaining another leg injury. Despite the news, Jones is now the backup running back to Matt Forte in Chicago so there is really no concern here from a fantasy perspective since he would likely be seeing limited action in relief even if he was healthy.

ChicagoBears.com reports Chicago Bears RB Kevin Jones is now two years removed from a torn ACL he suffered during the 2007 season. He has shed 20 pounds during the offseason and has impressed the coaching staff with his quickness, burst and cutting ability. Plus, he is now in his second year within the Bears' system. 'There's definitely plenty of snaps to get Kevin in there. He gives us some good solid running ability with a lot of experience. He's had a great offseason and has worked really hard,' offensive coordinator Ron Turner said.
The Huddle Take: Jones was looking good and helping out late in last years campaign, and with the team trying to keep Forte fresh should see a decent amount of garbage time. He's a must draft hand-cuff for Forte owners this year.
Posted: 7/8/2009 2:23am et
ChicagoBears.com reports Chicago Bears RBs coach Tim Spencer said the team has to use RB Kevin Jones more this year to make sure both he and RB Matt Forte are as healthy as they can be by the end of the season. Spencer said Jones is now 100 percent healthy and is back to where he was before suffering a torn ACL. 'He knows our system and he knows what we're trying to do,' Spencer noted on Jones.
The Huddle Take: Jones did well in spurts last season and there have been plenty of reports the past couple of years that he's recovered nicely from his torn ACL, leading one to believe that he'll at least be a good option to spell Forte from time to time. Given this fact, he still won't put up serious fantasy numbers, but is a solid handcuff for Forte owners and some to look at for bye week help.

FOXSports.com reports the Chicago Bears have agreed to terms with unrestricted free-agent RB Kevin Jones on a two-year deal worth $3.5 million, according to a source.
The Huddle Take: Jones will back up Matt Forte, much like he did early in the 2008 season before losing playing time due to injury and ineffectiveness.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports the Bears are trying to re-sign free-agent RB Kevin Jones and have offered him a contract.
The Huddle Take: Jones would handle a small portion of carries behind Matt Forte in Chicago. Other teams are looking at Jones for perhaps a larger share of the workload, but he has indicated he's interested in staying with the Bears.
