Seattle Seahawks RB Julius Jones (lung) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 19. He has been ruled out for Week 11.
The Huddle Take: Jones will be replaced in the lineup by the rookie Justin Forsett who has looked good sharing carries early on in the season. Forsett had gradually been seeing an increase in his opportunities over the last couple of games which could mean that he could see an expanded role in the offense even when Jones is ready to return.

NFL.com reports Seattle Seahawks head coach Jim Mora said RB Julius Jones (ribs, lung) is feeling better but likely will not be cleared to play in Week 11.
The Huddle Take: This means another start for Justin Forsett. Look for the little guy to have another solid outing as he's a threat as a receiver as well as a runner. His opponents last week were noted as saying he was tough to see before he was by them...a good thing to hear if you're the Seahawks!

The Seattle Times reports Seattle Seahawks RB Julius Jones (rib) suffered a broken rib during the first quarter of the team's Week 10 game and spent the night in hospital.
The Huddle Take: Jones will likely be out several weeks. Justin Forsett, who performed very well in Jones' absence Sunday against the Cardinals, will carry the load while Jones is out. Forsett will be a hot commodity on the waiver wire, but he has a very bad matchup on the road this week against Minnesota's stout run defense.

Updating a previous item, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Seattle Seahawks RB Julius Jones has bleeding in his lung and was kept at an Arizona hospital while the team return to Seattle.
The Huddle Take: Jones left the Seahawks' loss to Arizona with a chest injury, and obviously bleeding in his lung indicates it's a pretty serious injury. Justin Forsett was solid in relief of Jones and may be in line for some extended action here as Jones recovers.

NFL.com reports Seattle Seahawks RB Julius Jones (chest) suffered a chest injury in the first quarter Week 10.
The Huddle Take: Jones was replaced in the game by Justin Forsett who looks to get even more playing time if Jones is out of action with the injury. Seattle looked good on offense even without Jones in the lineup despite the loss to Arizona so fantasy owners should view Forsett a worthwhile acquistion if he is available for
Week 11.

Eric D. Williams, of the Tacoma News Tribune, reports Seattle Seahawks head coach Jim Mora is seeing progress in RB Julius Jones. Mora said, "I think there's been some real improvement in Julius that's not necessarily evident to the naked eye when you're watching the game for any of us--coaches on the side, fans in the stands or you guys in the press box. But when you go back and look at the film you notice some things that he's doing a lot better, and he's starting to pick up the scheme. He's seeing things much better. I think he's understanding where the cuts are going to be much better. I feel like he's gaining more yards after contact than he was earlier in the year. So those are some of the things that I think he's doing well. And then his pass protection has improved."
The Huddle Take: Jones' 16 carries for 36 yards against the Lions last week doesn't exactly scream improvement. However, Mora notes that Jones has improved in pass protection, which means the team can keep him on the field in more passing situations. And that, in turn, leads to six-catch games like Jones had last week.

The Seattle Times reports Seattle Seahawks RB Julius Jones was not named as a player who suffered an injury in the team's Week 2 game, but RB Justin Forsett finished the game, and Jones left the locker room with ice bags wrapped around his forearm.
The Huddle Take: Jones had only 11 yards on 8 carries before leaving, but did have a receiving score. That gives him a TD in each of the first two games and some Fantasy significance. If Jones is to be out for any extended period of time, Forsett is definitely worth looking at as a free agent pickup. That is, of course, assuming Matt Hasselbeck doesn't miss significant time. If he does, then all Seahawks' Fantasy value will take a huge hit.
Posted: 8/26/2009 10:31pm et
ESPN.com, reports Seattle Seahawks head coach Jim Mora said RB Julius Jones will be the team's workhorse running back this season.
The Huddle Take: With a healthy Matt Hasselbeck returning to lead the offense and the newly acquired Edgerrin James in place to give the running game another weapon, Jones is set up for big things. It is now or never for Jones to ascend to the workhorse role and it appears the coach is ready to give him that chance. Fantasy owners could do far worse than taking a chance on Jones as a mid round pick with upside.
