Updating a previous item, ESPN reports Indianapolis Colts FS Bob Sanders (biceps) has a torn biceps and will require season-ending surgery, according to a team source.
The Huddle Take: Odd that it went from an elbow problem to a torn biceps, but the bottom line is the Colt defense lost it's heart and soul, and will not be the same unit without Sanders. That's not to say it's a bad defense, but it's an excellent one with Sanders patrolling the secondary. If you have Matt Schaub and were thinking about benching him, you may want to reconsider unless your other QB has a great matchup.

The Indianapolis Star reports Indianapolis Colts head coach Jim Caldwell said FS Bob Sanders (elbow) will need to undergo surgery on his injured elbow. It is not known how long Sanders will be out of the lineup.
The Huddle Take: Sanders is a great player, but he's got to be one of the most injury-prone players as well. The Colt defense isn't the same without Sanders, who already missed the first five games of the season with a knee problem. The matchup just got a little better for Texans' QB Matt Schaub this week.

The Indianapolis Colts have announced FS Bob Sanders met with Dr. James Andrews Thursday, Nov. 5, to receive more information on the left elbow injury he suffered in Week 8.
The Huddle Take: Generally, news of a player meeting with Dr. Andrews is followed shortly by an announcement regarding surgery. Obviously, that's not good news for the oft-injured Sanders, though the consult may just be asking if he is risking further damage by playing with the ailment.

ESPN.com reports Indianapolis Colts FS Bob Sanders (knee) is on track to play in Week 7, but head coach Jim Caldwell said a decision on Sanders' availability for the game will be determined later in the week.
The Huddle Take: If Sanders is close to 100% and plays it gives the Colts defense a boost and makes them an even nicer bye week fill in for your fantasy team against the lowly Rams this week.

Mike Chappell, of the Indianapolis Star, reports Colts FS Bob Sanders met with Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala., and the update on his progress from offseason knee surgery is promising, according to head coach Jim Caldwell. "Dr. Andrews has looked at him and really feels he's on target and coming along," Caldwell said. "He's making progress. (Sanders) feels good about where he is, Dr. Andrews feels good about where he is, so that means I should feel good about where he is." The team, however, remains uncertain whether Sanders will be ready for Week 1.
The Huddle Take: The Colts' secondary is all kinds of banged up, and it's iffy if former defensive MVP Sanders will be ready to roll Week 1. Of course, those who were banking on Bob in IDP leagues already know the drill.

Mike Chappell, of The Indianapolis Star, reports Indianapolis Colts head coach Jim Caldwell said he is not sure if FS Bob Sanders will be ready to play in the team's regular-season opener because of a knee injury.
The Huddle Take: When Sanders is on the field he's among the best defensive players in the league; of course, the problem is that all too frequently he's not on the field. His value in IDP leagues already takes a hit because of his reputation, and this isn't going to help.

The Indianapolis Star reports Colts FS Bob Sanders helped provide the team with some salary-cap savings this offseason. The Colts saved approximately $1.6 million by converting $2.17 million of Sanders' $5 million roster bonus and prorating it over the life of his deal. Sanders will count approximately $6.1 million against the cap.
The Huddle Take: Indy has a history of giving its stars big money, and those players in turn usually are agreeable to tweaking their deals to free up cap space. Ain't it wonderful when everybody gets along?

Colts.com reports Indianapolis Colts FS Bob Sanders (knee) said he expects to play in the team's Wild Card playoff game. 'I have to be ready. Regardless of how much I played during the season, if I didn't play a game at all and I came back in the playoffs, you have to be ready. No excuses, no explanations,' Sanders said.
The Huddle Take: With Sanders present, LaDainian Tomlinson becomes even more of a playoff Fantasy risk than he already was. L.T. himself said he doesn't expect to be full strength due to an abdominal injury he suffered against the Broncos. Is Tomlinson sandbagging? Obviously, that's a possibility. But that's probably not a chance you should take.

Indianapolis Colts FS Bob Sanders (knee) participated in practice Tuesday, Dec. 16. He is expected to play in the team's Week 16 game.
The Huddle Take: A healthy Sanders usually means a stout Indianapolis run defense. If form holds, Maurice Jones-Drew could have some tough sledding Thursday, even at home.

Indianapolis Colts FS Bob Sanders (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 12. He is listed as questionable for the team's Week 15 game but is expected to play.
The Huddle Take: The Colts may be better off resting Sanders in a game they should be able to win handily without him. They'll regret that decision if he aggravates the injury. But with him in, you can expect even less from a Lion offense that was already expected to struggle mightily.
