The Associated Press reports Pittsburgh Steelers RB Mewelde Moore caught a touchdown pass and also threw for another in the team's Week 4 game.
The Huddle Take: The Steelers' offense was having its way with the Chargers on Sunday night, and Moore's contributions were what turned out to be a necessary bonus. He has solidified his role as Pittsburgh's third-down back.

The Associated Press reports Pittsburgh Steelers RB Mewelde Moore would receive additional carries in Week 4 if RB Willie Parker (toe) is unable to play.
The Huddle Take: Moore should be a solid bye week play this week as he appears set to get the bulk of the workload. Start him over Willie Parker this week.
Posted: 10/1/2009 11:24pm et
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Willie Parker (toe) needs a good day of work in practice Friday, Oct. 2, in order to play in the team's Week 4 game. If Parker is unable to play, head coach Mike Tomlin will choose between RB Rashard Mendenhall and RB Mewelde Moore to be his starter.
The Huddle Take: Fantasy owners looking for the status of Parker and the other Steeler running backs should check back on Friday to see if he practiced normally with the offense. If Parker is unable to practice then the Steelers will likely use a running back commitee which gives both Mendenhall and Moore an equal split of the carries.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports Pittsburgh Steelers RB Mewelde Moore could have a role in the team's rushing attack even if RBs Willie Parker and Rashard Mendenhall stay healthy this season. 'If we didnt have Mewelde last season,we wouldn't have been in the Super Bowl,' offensive coordinator Bruce Arians said
The Huddle Take: Moore won't be a Fantasy factor most weeks, but could be worth a spot start now and then if the injury-prone Parker and Mendenhall miss time. If all three stay healthy, though, it'll be hard to rely too much on any of them, since they'll likely be sharing carries.
Posted: 1/20/2009 10:42pm et
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reports Pittsburgh Steelers RB Mewelde Moore (ankle) should be able to play in Super Bowl XLIII despite suffering an ankle sprain during the AFC Championship game.
The Huddle Take: Moore has been a pleasant surprise for Pittsburgh in 2008 as he filled in admireably while starting running back Willie Parker was out with an injury. Moore has been a steady performer in the passing game and has been a lethal weapon for the Steeler offense all season long. Expect more of the same in 2009 as Moore has solidified his role as the primary backup to Willie Parker and will battle the injured Rashard Mendenhall in 2009 for carries.
