Barry Jackson, of the Miami Herald, reports Dolphins WR Ernest Wilford is excited at the possibility of playing tight end for the team this season. Wilford lined up at tight end during offseason workouts. "It's been interesting," Wilford said. "Defenses don't know if they're going to play me at receiver or tight end. It will create mismatches. I've got to know what I'm doing in protections and the running game. That's the biggest transition. Anything that will help me be a value to this team, I'm willing to do. I'm very confident."

The Huddle Take: Wilford's speed, or lack thereof, and good size is likely what precipitated the move to tight end. He'll battle Anthony Fasano for looks there, but with the Miami wide receiving corps generally on the small side there could be a need for a larger-framed pass-catcher in the mix.

Edgar Thompson, of the Palm Beach Post, reports Miami Dolphins WR Ernest Wilford lined up as a tight end during morning practice Friday, June 12. He struggled at times during blocking drills.

The Huddle Take: It's hardly a surprise that a wideout would struggle when asked to move in-line and block. But the thought of plugging Wilford into your fantasy TE spot, especially given the way the Dolphins use the position, is at minimum intriguing.

The South Florida SunSentinel reports the Miami Dolphins likely will trade or release WR Ernest Wilford during the offseason.

The Huddle Take: Wilford was a non-factor in 2008, both for the Dolphins and fantasy-wise. It's tough to see him landing with a team where that changes next season.
