The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports Minnesota Vikings DE Jared Allen (shoulder, knee) said during an interview on FOX that he suffered a strained medial collateral ligament in Week 14. He played with a knee brace in the team's Week 15 game.
The Huddle Take: Played with a knee brace and still had two sacks. Impressive. Don't look for any drop-off from Allen, who will more than likely be harassing Atlanta's Matt Ryan quite a bit this weekend.

Minnesota Vikings DL Jared Allen (shoulder) played in the team's Week 13 game despite having a grade-3 sprain of the AC joint in his right shoulder. Allen appears to be improving. He has gotten some practice time off of late in order to get him rest and that could continue this week.
The Huddle Take: That shoulder problem didn't affect Allen in the least Sunday against Chicago. He's got to be licking his chops in anticipation of this week's matchup against Detroit.

The Star Tribune reports Minnesota Vikings DE Jared Allen (shoulder) had his arm in a sling and was in obvious pain as he left the team's locker room after their Week 11 game.
The Huddle Take: Allen has been playing through a shoulder injury, so he may have aggravated it in Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers. Allen is also due in New York on Tuesday for a meeting regarding some questionable hits, so maybe he'll get a little extra rest and relaxation for the shoulder while serving a league-mandated vacation.

Minnesota Vikings DL Jared Allen (shoulder) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 14. He is listed as questionable for the team's Week 11 game but is expected to play.
The Huddle Take: Allen was a beast last week and he played with a shoulder harness. There's no reason to believe he won't be raising havoc in the Tampa Bay backfield this week.

Minnesota Vikings DL Jared Allen (shoulder) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 7. He is listed as doubtful for the team's Week 10 game and probably will not play.
The Huddle Take: A Minnesota pass rush without Allen all of a sudden becomes just average. Aaron Rodgers is probably breathing a sigh of relief, because no Viking pass rusher comes close to bringing the kind of heat Allen does.

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress said he will not know more about the extent of the injury to DL Jared Allen (shoulder) until the results of the MRI are viewed. Allen may miss the team's Week 10 game.
The Huddle Take: If Allen misses this week's game against the Packers, the Viking defense is immediately downgraded. It's not likely his replacement will be able to come anywhere near to producing the amount of sacks Allen brings to that unit.

Kansas City announced that they have agreed on a trade with the Vikings that will send DE Jared Allen to Minnesota for a first round pick and two third-round picks in the upcoming NFL draft. Allen has agreed on a contract with the Vikings that will net him $74 million over the next 6-years with $31 million in guaranteed money. The deal makes Allen's contract one of the most lucrative given to a defensive player in NFL history.
The Huddle Take: With their franchise defensive player Jared Allen gone look for the Kansas City Chiefs to spend their top pick on a pass-rushing defensive lineman. The deal could be monumental for the Chiefs since they grab valuable draft picks on their way to building a young dynamic team for the future.
