The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports Minnesota Vikings DE Jared Allen (ankle) limped off the field Monday, Aug. 17, after suffering an injured right ankle.
The Huddle Take: Odds are this isn't anything too serious, but if it is the Vikings would go from an excellent Fantasy defense to an average one very quickly.

The Los Angeles Times, reports Minnesota Vikings DE Jared Allen said he would be fine with free-agent QB Brett Favre (Jets) joining the team but is getting annoyed with Favre's indecision. 'If we get Brett, then that's a bonus. But let's either get it done and get moving on with it or let it go. It's not so much that it's a distraction because we're professionals and don't really buy into that. But it's annoying,' Allen said.
The Huddle Take: Its apparent that the Favre situation is becoming a distraction for the Vikings prior to their arrival at training camp. Look for the resolution to come by the end of July with Favre likely joining Minnesota for the 2009 campaign. Stay tuned for more developments as only time will tell how this truly unfolds and if Minnesota will have Favre to lead the offense.

The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports Minnesota Vikings DE Jared Allen (shoulder, knee) said during an interview on FOX that he suffered a strained medial collateral ligament in Week 14. He played with a knee brace in the team's Week 15 game.
The Huddle Take: Played with a knee brace and still had two sacks. Impressive. Don't look for any drop-off from Allen, who will more than likely be harassing Atlanta's Matt Ryan quite a bit this weekend.

Minnesota Vikings DL Jared Allen (shoulder) played in the team's Week 13 game despite having a grade-3 sprain of the AC joint in his right shoulder. Allen appears to be improving. He has gotten some practice time off of late in order to get him rest and that could continue this week.
The Huddle Take: That shoulder problem didn't affect Allen in the least Sunday against Chicago. He's got to be licking his chops in anticipation of this week's matchup against Detroit.
