The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reports Atlanta Falcons RB Michael Turner (ankle) did not practice Thursday, Nov. 19, and is unlikely to play in Week 11.
The Huddle Take: Turner is likely to be a gametime decision but is likely to miss the Week 11 contest which would open the door for backup running back Jason Snelling to get the start. High ankle sprains have a tendency to linger for a few weeks which could limit Turner even when he does return to the lineup for the Falcons in the near future.

ESPN.com reports Atlanta Falcons RB Jason Snelling could start in Week 11 if RB Michael Turner (ankle) is unable to play.
The Huddle Take: While it's still too early to have to make the call, those in leagues who require the entire roster to be submitted and locked before kickoff of the first game, this could become a problem. It is very possible that Turner may not be able to go this weekend, and if he can't, Snelling is the man. We'll keep you posted as the situation warrants.

FOXSports.com reports Atlanta Falcons RB Michael Turner (ankle) has been diagnosed with a high ankle sprain. However, the team is optimistic he won't be out as long as high ankle sprains usually keep a player out.
The Huddle Take: Even in the best case scenario, Turner would more than likely sit out Week 11. Unless the Falcons sign a free agent this week, Jason Snelling and Aaron Stecker will share the load against the Giants. That is, unless Jerious Norwood can return from a hip injury he suffered in Week 7. At this point, Norwood's status is up in the air. But no matter who lines up in the Atlanta backfield this week, they'd be a risky start against the New York run defense.

D. Orlando Ledbetter, of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reports Falcons RB Michael Turner will have a test Monday, Nov. 16, to reveal the extent of the ankle injury he suffered Week 10. Turner said, "I'm assuming that it's a (MRI)." The team has not given Turner any idea of how much time he may miss. Turner added, "They wouldn't say (anything) right now. I'm just going to keep an open mind. It's an ankle sprain. We'll take it from there and just do what we can do."
The Huddle Take: Turner was effective prior to the injury, rolling up 111 yards on nine carries; Jason Snelling was solid after Turner left with 61 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. That the Falcons are already talking about bringing back Aaron Stecker suggests that they're not banking on Turner being available this week.

The Associated Press reports Atlanta Falcons RB Michael Turner (ankle) went back to the locker room after spraining his right ankle in Week 10. Turner rolled his ankle on a 10-yard run and tried walking without his shoe on before heading inside. His return is questionable. RB Jason Snelling ran for a touchdown after Turner left.
The Huddle Take: Turner had opened the game on fire as he tallied 111 yards on only 9 rushing attempts before leaving with the injury. Backup running back Jason Snelling finished the game since Turner was unable to return. The Falcons star runner will be evaluated further on Monday to determine if he will miss any significant time with this injury.
Posted: 11/3/2009 8:26am et
Atlanta Falcons RB Michael Turner had 20 carries for 151 yards with a touchdown Week 8.
The Huddle Take: There were some rumblings a couple of weeks ago that Turner may be losing some carries to Jason Snelling after Snelling ran for 68 yards on 7 carries against Dallas. So much for that. Turner has shut that talk up for now at least. While he's not on the torrid, 1,700-yard pace he set last year, Turner has still scored a touchdown in every game this season except in Week 1.
Posted: 10/27/2009 12:57pm et
The Associated Press reports Atlanta Falcons RB Michael Turner has been held under 70 yards rushing in four of the team's six games this season. He has only one 100-yard game and is averaging just 3.4 yards per carry. Turner averaged 4.5 yards per carry in 2008 and ranked second in the NFL with 1,699 yards rushing.
The Huddle Take: Turner may be losing some carries to Jason Snelling, who rushed for 68 yards on 7 carries against the Cowboys. If Turner accepts the challenge posed by Snelling and steps up his game, he could still revert back to his 2008 form. Don't give up on Turner by any means, just start him with the understanding he may be surrendering some carries in the short term.
Posted: 10/23/2009 2:59pm et
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Atlanta Falcons RB Michael Turner (chest) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 23. He is listed as probable for Week 7 and is expected to play.
The Huddle Take: Turner will get more carries than normal since Jerious Norwood is expected to miss the game with a hip pointer. He looks like a strong Fantasy start this week against the Cowboys.
Posted: 10/11/2009 9:52pm et
The Associated Press reports Atlanta Falcons RB Michael Turner had 22 carries for 97 yards with three touchdowns Week 5.
The Huddle Take: Turner has struggled early on this year but showed no signs of that in the Falcons 45-10 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. He was impressive the entire game and provided Atlanta with solid production and ball control throughout the contest. Turner remains an elite No. 1 running back in any fantasy format this season.
Posted: 8/22/2009 12:24pm et
CBSSports.com reports Atlanta Falcons RB Michael Turner has amassed 128 rushing yards on 13 carries in two preseason games thus far.
The Huddle Take: Turner has a tougher schedule for 2009 and there's at least an intention to limit his workload some this year to keep him fresh and healthy. But there is no denying his value in that offense and just how safe a fantasy pick he has become. He loses out in reception point leagues but still looks like gold in standard performance scoring.
