CarolinaGrowl.com reports Carolina Panthers WR D.J. Hackett (toe) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 3. He is expected to start Week 1.
The Huddle Take: Hackett makes for an interesting option in Carolina this year but injuries always seem to be a concern for the talented wideout. With Steve Smith out of action the first two weeks of the season due to suspension, fantasy owners should expect Hackett, Muhsin Muhammad and Dwayne Jarrett to start in what could be a solid passing attack for the Panthers.

CarolinaGrowl.com reports Carolina Panthers WR D.J. Hackett (toe) will return to practice Wednesday, Sept. 3. Hackett has not practiced since Wednesday, Aug. 6.
The Huddle Take: With Smith sidelined for two weeks on suspension, this is Hackett's time to prove his worth. The effort he brings these two weeks will ultimately determine how much the team entrusts to him as the year goes on.

*Special Injury Update*
Sprained Toe - Panthers' WR DJ Hackett, who did not play in a single game during the preseason because of a sprained toe, could return to practice with the team this week however his status for Week 1 of the regular season remains in question. Hackett jammed his toe in early August and the team has held him out of games and team practices while he recovers. The medical staff is concerned that the injury could linger into the regular season and they want to make sure that he is completely healthy before he is allowed to return. Head coach John Fox told reporters that he will have an update on Hackett's status on Wednesday but he indicated that there is a chance that he could practice this week and start in Week 1. We will keep you posted.

The Rock Hill Herald reports Carolina Panthers WR D.J. Hackett (toe) warmed up with the team before their preseason game Saturday, Aug. 23. He did not play in the game, but head coach John Fox said he expects Hackett to practice Monday, Aug. 25.
The Huddle Take: This is encouraging news for Hackett who is a nice sleeper candidate in Carolina this season. With veteran WR Steve Smith facing a two-game suspension to start the season, Hackett could be looked upon as a key piece of the passing game in his absense. Fantasy owners should take a chance on Hackett as a
No. 4 receiver at this time with the upside to be much more if Jake Delhomme and the Carolina passing game click like most think it will this year. If Hackett starts practicing as expected on Monday then he will likely see some action in the last preseason game for the Panthers.

The Associated Press reports Carolina Panthers QB D.J. Hackett (toe) is likely to start in the team's regular season opener if he can stay healthy.
The Huddle Take: Fantasy owners should expect Hackett to make a nice sleeper pick during their upcoming drafts as his stock is on the rise in light of the two game suspension to starter Steve Smith. Even when Smith returns to action, Hackett could turn into the big redzone target and complement that has been missing in Carolina for the last few seasons. Also expect Muhsin Muhammad to get his share of the action in the Panthers receiving core this year.

The Carolina Panthers have inked WR D.J. Hackett to a
2-year deal worth $3.5 million. The 26-year old Hackett had played the past four seasons in Seattle where he battled through a variety of injuries, however he did have 6 catches for 101 yards and a touchdown in the NFC Wildcard game against the Washington Redskins.
The Huddle Take: Hackett should give the Panthers the much needed complement to star receiver Steve Smith in the Carolina offense. If Hackett can stay healthy in 2008 he could post huge numbers for Carolina as they strive to return to one of the NFC's elite teams. Fantasy owners should keep Hackett on the radar during the offseason as he could be a prime sleeper candidate for 2008.

D.J. Hackett has re-aggravated his high ankle sprain and will be a game time decision according to HC Mike Holmgren. Hackett already missed ten games this season because of the sprain.
The Huddle Take: Could be a tough blow for the Seahawks who will likely struggle in the rushing game and must have all hands on deck for receivers to stand a chance in Green Bay.
