Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman may miss some practice time next week due to a court date for multiple traffic infractions.

Huddle Up: Hillman was actually active the last few games of the regular season, but will only see spare postseason touches as long as Knowshon Moreno and Montee Ball remain healthy.

Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman scored a touchdown in the team's Week 3 game after winning a game of rock-paper-scissors on the sidelines with RBs Knowshon Moreno and Montee Ball to see who would get the goal line carry. 'We were just messing around on the sideline,' Hillman said. 'Just something to do. Have fun.'

Huddle Up: Good to know your Week 3 fantasy fortunes may have hinged on Hillman showing a rock to the other backs' scissors, but it's all in fun, right? In any case, it remains a three-way RBBC in the Mile High City, but Ball's late-game fumble -- his second in 2 games -- may result in more touches for Hillman and Moreno over the next few weeks.

Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman is listed as the starting running back on the team's depth chart for Week 1. RB Montee Ball is listed as the backup running back and RB Knowshon Moreno is listed as the No. 3 back.

Huddle Up: Those who drafted Ball as a starting RB were hoping that Hillman's preseason fumbling issues (3 fumbles, 2 lost) would've vaulted their man to the top of the depth chart, but it looks to a full-bore RBBC in Denver entering the season with all 3 backs expected to share in the early workload.

Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman was running with the first team in practice Tuesday, Aug. 27. Head coach John Fox said not to read into RB Montee Ball taking first-team reps Monday, Aug. 26, even though he also took some turns with the starters Tuesday. Ball's starter work Monday might have had something to do with Hillman's preseason fumbling issues. The Broncos had Hillman carrying a football between reps the last few days.

Huddle Up: Hillman's 1-day demotion pretty much had everything to do with his ball-security issues as he's had two fumbles returned for TDs this preseason. No matter, who starts at RB for the Broncos, however, it's becoming clear that we're likely to see all 3 of the team's top backs -- Hillman, Ball and Knowshon Moreno -- getting work in a game and making it fantasy quagmire.

Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman is listed as the starting running back on the team's first depth chart of the preseason. Rookie Montee Ball is listed as the No.2 back, while vet Knowshon Moreno is third.

Huddle Up: Hillman, who has improved his pass blocking and added nearly 20 pounds to his 2012 season-ending frame, has been regarded as the unofficial No. 1 most of the offseason and the first official depth chart put that in writing. The rookie Ball, however, had the best scrimmage of the top three backs Saturday night, and could overtake Hillman if he continues to better his own pass-protection skills.

Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman has improved his pass-protection skills this season, which hurt his case for playing time last season. He still has a firm grasp on the No. 1 running back post.

Huddle Up: Hillman's a little bigger, has upgraded his blocking, and picked up some valuable experience last year. To the chagrin of those chasing Montee Ball in the early rounds, it looks as if Hillman will be clinging to the lead role in Denver's RBBC for at least a little while.

Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman will begin training camp as the starting running back.

Huddle Up: Hillman, a third-round pick a season ago, had 392 total yards and a TD on 95 offensive touches as a rookie, reportedly has made some significant offseason strides, including adding nearly 20 pounds to his slender, 180-pound frame and improving his pass blocking. We'll see if that's enough to hold off 2013 2nd-round pick Montee Ball in camp.

Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman said he wants to be the starting running back once the regular season begins. 'Come the opener, I want to be the guy back there,' Hillman said. 'I can't lie. I want it to be me and I'm pushing to be that guy.' Hillman said he understands he needs to keep his weight up during the season but does not think it will hurt his speed.

Huddle Up: Hillman reportedly has put on 20-or-so pounds this offseason, and while most fantasy pundits already have 2013 2nd-round pick Montee Ball opening as the Broncos' Week 1 starter, don't be surprised if the bulked-up Hillman's year of experience in Peyton Manning's offense gives him a leg up at least early in the season.

Posted: 6/18/2013 3:35am et

Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman added about 15 pounds of muscle in the offseason and got his frame up to 200 pounds. The team would like him to play between 190-to-195 pounds.

Huddle Up: The Broncos drafted Montee Ball to be their "big" back, with the expectation for Hillman to be their speed/change of pace back. Hillman might like a larger share of the workload, but he'll have to settle for being a little larger and being what likely amounts to the junior member of Denver's committee.

Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman, Montee Ball and Knowshon Moreno are in a dogfight for the starting job heading into training camp and the preseason. Hillman and Ball are likely the top candidates to start, with Moreno seeing plenty of time on the field due to his pass-blocking abilities.

Huddle Up: Hillman reportedly has bulked up and appears to be stronger entering his second season but of the 3 backs, it's hard to envision him as the lead dog, considering the pass-blocking issues he had as a rookie and only having 3 games this past season, including the playoffs, with more than 12 carries.

Posted: 5/21/2013 5:48am et

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning said RB Ronnie Hillman will be counted on to have an increased role in the offense this year, and offensive coordinator Adam Gase is expected to utilize him more in the game plan. Manning has high expectations for Hillman this season.

Huddle Up: Hillman is expected to see third down work in a committee with Montee Ball. He wasn't up to a feature-back workload last year as a rookie, but perhaps another year of OTAs and training camp will get him up to speed.

Posted: 5/2/2013 9:28pm et

The Denver Broncos are working with RB Ronnie Hillman to try to keep his weight up during the season. Hillman dropped to under 180 pounds at the end of the 2012 season.

Huddle Up: Hillman isn't going to be the bigger, every-down back the Broncos need, leading to the selection of Montee Ball (5-11, 215) in the second round. Hillman, though, showed some flashes during his rookie season of 2012, and could still see his share of snaps on passing downs this season in Denver.
