St. Louis Rams general manager Les Snead said the team doesn't necessarily need a No. 1 wideout to compete with the rest of their division moving forward, despite the Rams finishing 30th in the league in total yards and 22nd in offensive points in 2013. WR Chris Givens led the team's receivers with only 569 receiving yards last year, and St. Louis hasn't had a receiver even reach 700 yards since former WR Torrey Holt in 2008. 'I go back to this, and the answer is really 'no' on that,' Snead said. 'I think our receivers right now, I truly believe as they progress and the oldest guy just finished his third year, we cannot have another receiver around here and we're going to be a good football team.'
Huddle Up: This past draft, the Rams traded up to pick wideout Tavon Austin with the 8th overall selection, and figure to spend their high picks addressing other areas of need this May. Austin finished his rookie campaign with 40 catches for 418 yards and 4 TDs and also added a rushing score and a punt-return TD.
