The Associated Press reports Miami Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown had 15 carries for 48 yards with a touchdown during the team's Week 13 game.
The Huddle Take: Brown continues to share carries in the Miami backfield with running back Ricky Williams which has limited the Dolphin starter from becoming the force that he was for fantasy teams last season. However, Williams sustained an injury in Week 13 which could present Brown with more opportunities and fantasy points for his owners the next few weeks. Monitor Williams injury status in the upcoming week to determine the extent of his injury.

The Associated Press reports Miami Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown has been fined $10,000 by the NFL for excessive celebration during the team's Week 5 game.
The Huddle Take: If you just beat the two AFC conference finalists from a year ago in back-to-back games to double your team's win total from the previous season... hey, you'd celebrate too. It's unlikely Brown will need to take up a collection to cover the fine.

The South Florida SunSentinel reports Miami Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown started the team's Week 3 game and will likely remain the starting tailback.
The Huddle Take: Another one of those Homer Simpson statements. The guy starts, runs for four TDs and passes for another against the New England defense and the paper reports that he will 'likely remain' the starter? Come on, this isn't rocket science here! Many guys got caught off guard with Ronnie on their bench, but it looked like he was the Ronnie who was lighting things up before his injury last season. It would be foolish to not have him in your lineup at this point.

NFL.com reports Miami Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown set a franchise record for most rushing touchdowns in a game with four. He also tied the franchise individual single-game mark for most total touchdowns in a game with five. Brown finished the team's Week 3 game with 17 carries for 113 yards with four rushing scores. He also threw one passing touchdown in the game.
The Huddle Take: What a performance by Brown as he almost single-handedly destroyed the Patriots in New England. The Dolphins starter showed no signs of his knee injury that ended his season last year and should be considered a solid No. 3 running back at the present time. Despite the huge performance Brown will likely not have many days like this one so temper your expectations of him for the rest of the season.

The Associated Press reports Miami Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown had 12 carries for 47 yards with a touchdown during the team's preseason finale Thursday, Aug. 28. He also caught two passes for 10 receiving yards.
The Huddle Take: Injuries had limited Brown to five yards on three touches this preseason, and new coach Tony Sparano indicated he was pleased to see Brown get some extended action. The sub-4.0 yards-per-carry average doesn't suggest Brown is all the way back from the knee injury he suffered 10 months ago, and Ricky Williams' strong showing this preseason suggests the Phins will at least start the year with a two-headed feature back.

MiamiDolphins.com reports Miami Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown (thumb) practiced Tuesday, Aug. 26, without a cast on his left thumb. Head coach Tony Sparano said he would like to play Brown in the team's preseason game Thursday, Aug. 28, if the doctors clear him.
The Huddle Take: Considering the amazing start Ronnie Brown had to last year's season, there are big expectations if he's healthy. The twist is the success of Ricky Williams. The reality is, if both are healthy, this could be one of the best rushing attacks ever. Watch closely to how the team plays things in their final preseason game and then try to start the best one.

*Special Injury Update*
Sprained Thumb / Recovering from ACL Surgery - Dolphins' RB Ronnie Brown, who was held out of this weekend's preseason game because of a sprained thumb, split first-team reps with Ricky Williams in practice on Monday however head coach Tony Sparano remains concerned about his health. Sparano told reporters that he believes that Brown's injured thumb will affect his workload early in the season and he went on to say that while Brown's knee has healed he isn't mentally recovered from ACL surgery. Brown returned to practice last week wearing a cast and he had his thumb wrapped for practice on Monday. The Dolphins are giving him every opportunity to win the starting job, but Williams continues to shine and the best Brown can ask for is a split of the carries. Williams could end up with a majority of the carries to start the regular season and if he plays well Brown might have a hard time getting on field even if he returns to full strength.

The Palm Beach Post reports Miami Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano said RB Ronnie Brown (knee, thumb) will not be traded. 'No chance that were trading Ronnie. I understand another rumor is flying out there. Last week, it was [QB John Beck]. This week its Ronnie. There was no discussion of that internally or externally. None,' Sparano said.
The Huddle Take: Even if the team isn't going to trade him, Brown has lost value thanks to the over performing Ricky Williams. The only thing owners have to remember is that Williams is 31. Sure, he's had quite a lot of time 'off', but he is still 31, and we all know what that means for running backs. When Williams stumbles, and there's every reason to think he could at some time, Brown will return to being the main guy, so don't discard him just yet.

Updating previous reports, the Palm Beach Post reports Miami Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown (thumb, knee) suffered a thumb injury Saturday, Aug. 16, but it was not too serious. Brown demonstrated he could rotate his thumb after the game. He was wearing a soft cast on it during the second half of the game. Brown said that was simply precautionary. He said he could have played during the second half of the game had it been in the regular season.
The Huddle Take: If anyone could use some good news it would be the Miami Dolphins and starting running back Ronnie Brown. With running back Ricky Williams running well and being in the best shape in some time, it would best serve Brown to try and remain on the field. Miami looks to utilize both running backs this season as both could get an equal share of the carries as the Dolphins look to run the ball alot in 2008.

The Associated Press reports Miami Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown (knee, thumb) suffered a thumb injury Saturday, Aug. 16, against the Jacksonville Jaguars and left the game early. He finished the game with two carries for 2 yards. The team said his return to the game was questionable.
The Huddle Take: Another injury to the star running back for Miami in limited preseason action again on Saturday night against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Dolphins will likely limit Brown even more as the preseason progresses in order to make sure that he is ready for the start of the regular season. The former first-round pick in 2005 has been very injury prone the last couple of years and could lose some significant carries to veteran Ricky Williams who returns to action this season as the backup at the present time for the Dolphins.
