The Cincinnati Enquirer reports Cincinnati Bengals RB Cedric Benson (hip) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 20. He is listed as doubtful for Week 11.

The Huddle Take: Hopefully you picked up Bernard Scott if you're a Benson owner. Scott will share carries with Larry Johnson and Brian Leonard, but he's still worth serious consideration as a Fantasy start against Oakland's porous run defense.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports Cincinnati Bengals RB Cedric Benson (hip) said he will be a game-time decision for Week 11.

The Huddle Take: As we've stated before, there's a good chance the Bengals will choose to err on the side of caution this week with Benson, and rest him in what should be a win against the Raiders. Bernard Scott will probably get the bulk of the carries against one of the worst rushing defenses in the NFL.

ESPNews reports Cincinnati Bengals RB Cedric Benson (hip) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 19.

The Huddle Take: The Bengals may play it safe with Benson and sit him out of a game they should win against the Raiders whether or not he suits up. If he can't go, backup Bernard Scott would be a good Fantasy play against the lousy Oakland run defense. He'd probably share some carries to newly-signed Larry Johnson, but Scott should see most of the workload.

Bengals.com reports Cincinnati Bengals RB Cedric Benson (hip) says the strain in his abductor is better and that if he is unable to play Week 11, he would be able to play Week 12. Benson said, "It's not a major thing. It may take one week to get ready, but not two. Hopefully I'll be ready this Sunday (Nov. 22). I need to focus on it and let it get healed so I can hit the ground full speed."

The Huddle Take: You can bet Benson will be doing everything possible to be on the field and healthy or at least faking it well this week after seeing the team sign Larry Johnson. Benson has been a different back since his rebirth of sorts late last year...but he still has to go out there and keep the job every week. Look for him to have a solid outing as he tries to keep Johnson out of the picture.

ESPN.com reports Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said there is a chance RB Cedric Benson (hip) could play in Week 11. Benson is expected to be limited in practice this week.

The Huddle Take: Benson could be hearing the footsteps of both Bernard Scott and Larry Johnson, and will try and gut it out in a game he possibly otherwise would have sat out. Going forward, though, be cautious with Benson since he'll very likely lose carries to the other Cincinnati running backs.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports Cincinnati Bengals RB Cedric Benson (hip) is expected to be limited during practice this week with a decision on his availability for Week 11 to be made closer to game time.

The Huddle Take: Benson is a big question mark for fantasy owners right now. The team is looking to sign Larry Johnson, and don't expect them to be timid about using whatever they have to use in order to make the playoffs. Benson owners should be monitoring this situation extremely close.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports the Cincinnati Bengals and RB Cedric Benson (hip flexor) are both saying he will be ready for the team's Week 11 game. Benson suffered a hip flexor strain Week 10.

The Huddle Take: Benson is another running back that sustained an injury which could impact his playing status for fantasy squads in the upcoming weeks. Backup running back Bernard Scott would get the call if Benson does have to sit out in Week 11 against an Oakland team that has had problems stopping opposing running backs.

The Associated Press reports Cincinnati Bengals RB Cedric Benson had 27 carries for 120 yards with a touchdown Week 5. Benson also caught two passes for 16 receiving yards. It was the first time in 40 games the Baltimore Ravens allowed a runner to break 100 yards rushing.

The Huddle Take: Benson had been nursing a hip injury that had limited him in practice this week, however the Bengals running back showed no ill effects of the injury on Sunday. Benson should be considered as a solid No. 2 running back with the potential to post some consistent numbers for a Cincinnati team that is much improved and balanced on both sides of the ball this season.

The Huddle Take: Benson will play -- how well he'll play is another question. He has an extremely tough matchup against the Ravens, so you may want to look elsewhere for RB help this week.

The Huddle Take: The injury to Benson is one that is of definite concern especially with the Bengals playing as well as they have to start the season. If Benson is unable to play against Baltimore then expect Bernard Scott and Brian Leonard to get a chance to carry the rock for Cincinnati. Fantasy owners should proceed with caution here since the Ravens aggressive defense could cause problems for any running back to post any significant numbers.
