Roy Cummings and Ira Kaufman, of The Tampa Tribune, report the Tampa Bay Buccaneers plan to give RB Cadillac Williams more touches in the future because of how he has looked during games. "We went into the season with the mentality of let's work Cadillac in. Our thinking was we could rotate him in with the other backs, but as good as he's looked, it's time we become more committed to Cadillac Williams as a full-time guy," offensive coordinator Greg Olson said. Williams is averaging five yards per carry.
The Huddle Take: Williams has looked good this season—remarkable, even, considering the knee injuries he's overcome. For the short term, at least, Williams gets the leg up on Derrick Ward in the Bucs' backfield battle. But both the Buccaneers and fantasy owners would do well to have a backup plan at the ready, because as good as he's looked you just know there's another injury lurking around the corner.

Charlie Campbell and Jim Flynn, of PewterReport.com, report Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Cadillac Williams is participating in practice Friday, Oct. 2.
The Huddle Take: Good news that Caddy is ready to roll, as it looks as if backfield mate Derrick Ward won't be joining him in Week 4.

Updating previous reports, The Tampa Tribune, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Cadillac Williams (knee) has knee soreness. Head coach Raheem Morris said it doesn't have anything to do with the previous knee surgeries Williams has undergone; it was simply because he was sore after playing a game on turf. Morris added Williams is expected to play during Week 3. Williams has 162 total yards in two games this season, and he has become the first player in the league history to successfully return from torn patellar tendons in both knees.
The Huddle Take: Fantasy owners had to be asking themselves if Williams would be well enough to last the entire season. It appears that this news indicates that there is some concern over his knees which has limited his playing time over the last two seasons. Fantasy owners should proceed with caution on Williams and the Buccaneers running game this year.

The Associated Press reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Cadillac Williams managed just nine rushing yards off seven carries Week 2. However, he caught seven passes for 56 receiving yards with a touchdown in the game.
The Huddle Take: Perhaps reports of Cadillac's return to pre-injury form based on last week's performance were a bit premature. However, it's notable that Williams was such a factor in the passing game; that was a role free agent signee Derrick Ward was expected to fill.

The Associated Press reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Cadillac Williams had eight carries for 54 yards during the team's preseason game Thursday, Aug. 27.
The Huddle Take: Dare we say that Cadillac looked... good? And with Raheem Morris talking about not only a three-headed RBBC but also doing the "he gets two series, he gets two series, and so on, and so on" bit, all Williams' performance does is muddies the waters of an already complicated backfield.

Updating a previous report, PewterReport.com, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Cadillac Williams (knee) will start in the team's preseason game Thursday, Aug. 27.
The Huddle Take: Williams who is coming off another knee injury from last season, is in line to get the start with Tampa Bay's first team offense in Thursday's preseason game. However, fantasy owners should temper their expectations while taking the wait and see approach where Williams is concerned. It would be advised to defer a decision on his fantasy status until it becomes clearer if he will even be a key part of the offense in 2009.

PewterReport.com reports the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will hold RB Cadillac Williams out of their first two preseason games. Head coach Raheem Morris said Williams is healthy but is being held out as a precaution.
The Huddle Take: Williams is looking to carve out playing time in a crowded backfield that also includes Derrick Ward and Earnest Graham. At this stage, the Bucs can't be expecting much from the oft-injured Caddy, so anything he can give them would be gravy.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris said RB Cadillac Williams (knee) looked good on the field Saturday, Aug. 1. 'I was fired up about him, for him to get off and running like that. He has no choice but to get better. I can't wait to see him tomorrow and this evening,' Morris said.
The Huddle Take: Williams was thought to be pretty much done, and has a lot of talent in front of him that he'll have to overcome to have much of a fantasy impact, but it still would be smart to keep an eye on him in the preseason. There is still the possibility of a surprise due to the talent there.

PewterReport.com reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Cadillac Williams (knee) could be placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list if his knee injury is not healed enough to pass a physical.
The Huddle Take: Williams' work ethic must be amazing, since he's close to returning from his second devastating patella injury. But he's also a huge risk, and he's No. 3 at best on the Bucs' RB depth chart behind Earnest Graham and Derrick Ward. Williams will likely have little to no Fantasy impact this season.
Posted: 7/20/2009 5:02pm et
Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris said during an interview that RB Cadillac Williams (knee) will participate in training camp and is in the mix to receive some carries this season.
The Huddle Take: With Williams' unfortunate history of knee problems, what carries he does receive should be limited. He'll be sharing time with Derrick Ward and Earnest Graham and will likely be a non-contributor to Fantasy teams.
