CBSSports.com reports Washington Redskins head coach Jim Zorn said QB Jason Campbell (ankle) suffered a sprained ankle during the teams Week 7 game.
The Huddle Take: If you're starting Campbell you're in a world of hurt anyway, but in case you are, know that he's got a sprained ankle. However, with a bye this week, it is likely he'll be back ready to play in week 9.

Brad Biggs, of the National Football Post, reports Washington Redskins QB Jason Campbell said he was not told he would remain the team's starting quarterback. Head coach Jim Zorn announced on his radio show Monday, Oct. 19, that Campbell would start Week 7. Campbell said, "I haven't been told that yet. I haven't talked to him about that, I don't know what to say about that, but I'm just going to get myself ready whether it's me or (QB Todd Collins)."
The Huddle Take: Are you at all surprised that there's dysfunction in D.C.? Not only is Campbell unsure of whether or not he'll be taking first-team reps, he'll also have a new play-caller—one who's been with the team for just two weeks, was out of the league for over four years prior to that, and who most recently was calling Bingo games at a senior center. Good luck with all that.

NFL Network reports Washington Redskins QB Jason Campbell will remain the team's starting quarterback for Week 7, according to a league source.
The Huddle Take: Campbell should only be used in the most desperate of situations. Not only are the Redskins immersed in chaos, they face a Philadelphia team that will be foaming at the mouth to atone for their shocking loss to Oakland.

ESPN reports the Washington Redskins have not committed to a starting quarterback for their Week 7 game, but QB Jason Campbell might still get the start.
The Huddle Take: Regardless of who starts, this is one seriously messy situation. If it weren't for a few nice connections with Santana Moss there would be no reason to even have Campbell on a radar, much less a roster. Look for this train to take some time to right itself, if it does at all this season. Regardless of record, this is the worst team in football so far this season, not a great source of fantasy prospects, so stay clear of Collins and Campbell unless you are desperate!

The Washington Post, reports Washington Redskins QB Jason Campbell (ankle) has "no doubt" he will start the teams Week 3 game. He was somewhat limited in practice Wednesday, Sept. 23, because of a sprained ankle, but head coach Jim Zorn said he held Campbell out for precautionary reasons. Zorn said Campbell was held out from "some of the movement plays, just to not put a strain on his foot. But I would say he did all the things that he could."
The Huddle Take: Certainly a good sign that Campbell's injury is improving as the Redskins could certainly use some consistent play from its veteran quarterback. Fantasy owners should temper their expectations for any Washington quarterback at the present time.

CBSSports.com reports Washington Redskins QB Jason Campbell (ankle) suffered a sprained ankle in Week 2, according to head coach Jim Zorn. 'He gutted it out. I avoided calling plays that required him to roll out after the injury,' Zorn said.
The Huddle Take: The Redskins haven't yet disclosed whether or not Campbell is in danger of missing Week 3. Odds are he'll be able to play, but Todd Collins will go in his place if he can't.

Gary Fitzgerald, of Redskins.com, reports Washington Redskins QB Jason Campbell is working on adjusting his release so that it is quicker, more efficient and accurate.
The Huddle Take: This isn't the kind of release work Campbell was anticipating after spending the last couple of months hearing how Danny Snyder was working to replace him—first with Jay Cutler, then with Mark Sanchez. A quicker release would certainly help Campbell as he tries to master Jim Zorn's West Coast offense, and a second consecutive year in the same offensive system might do wonders for him as well.

The Washington Times reports Redskins QB Jason Campbell said he doesn't plan to hold a grudge against the team's brass for trying to land QBs Jay Cutler and Mark Sanchez. He plans to take part in the team's upcoming minicamp. "I'm ready to move forward and have one of my best years," said Campbell, who is in the final year of his contract. He noted nothing was set in stone on what he would have done should the Redskins have landed another high-profile quarterback.
The Huddle Take: Campbell is the Redskins' best option at the moment, but perhaps more importantly he'll get to stay in the same offense for a second consecutive season—continuity that's been all too infrequent in Campbell's college and NFL career. A little stability could go a long way towards Campbell living up to the potential that made him a first-round selection.

NFL.com, reports Washington Redskins QB Jason Campbell will request to be traded if the team picks a quarterback in the 2009 NFL Draft.
The Huddle Take: First it was the Jay Cutler fiasco and now the Redskins seem intent on looking at bringing in another young quarterback to develop. Regardless of what the team does it appears likely that Campbell is not the long term solution at quarterback. Consider him a decent No. 2 quarterback for fantasy teams at the present time with limited upside.

The Washington Post, reports the Washington Redskins contacted one NFL team Wednesday, April 1, about the possibility of trading QB Jason Campbell for a second-round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, according to a high-ranking team official. The source said he interpreted the move as an attempt by the Redskins to put together a package to acquire Denver Broncos QB Jay Cutler. Team spokesman Zack Bolno denied the team had inquired about dealing Campbell.
The Huddle Take: Washington has been projected by many prognosticators as a possible landing site for Jay Cutler who is obviously on the outs in Denver. With Jason Campbell continuing to develop at a slower rate one can only think that Redskins owner Daniel Snyder has to be looking intently into the possibility of acquiring Cutler. Look for this situation to continue to unfold as trade talks begin to heat up.
