Ed Bouchette, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reports Steelers TE Heath Miller is currently second on the team with 24 receptions but said many of his receptions are when the Steelers have to check the ball down. "A lot of plays, it's not that I'm the focus point or I'm the No. 1 option; guys are dropping back and Ben's checking the ball down, and that's when the ball comes to me or the back a lot of times. A lot of my catches come on those plays," Miller said. Miller is on pace to catch 96 passes this season.
The Huddle Take: That pace would double Miller's previous career high. Miller is taking advantage of opposing teams paying attention to Santonio Holmes and Hines Ward down the field, as well as the Steelers' lack of a consistent ground game. While that pace is unlikely to last, Miller has played his way into a role as an every-week fantasy starter.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said TE Heath Miller (sports hernia) will be limited during training camp for a while because he underwent sports hernia surgery in June.
The Huddle Take: Miller should be fine when the season begins, and once again be one of those sneaky-good tight ends that a lot of Fantasy players will ignore come draft time.

Steelers.com, reports Pittsburgh Steelers TE Heath Miller signed a new six-year contract Wednesday, July 29, that will keep him with the team through the 2014 season. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Huddle Take: Miller appears to be destined to remain an integral part of the Steeler offense for many years to come in light of his new contract. Fantasy teams could do far worse than selecting Miller for their teams as he could post some consistent numbers in the Steelers offense and he could likely see an expanded role.
