The Cincinnati Enquirer reports Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said owner Mike Brown wanted to give WR Chris Henry another opportunity. 'I know at the end of the day the owner (Mike Brown) has the final say so whether or not he wants to give a guy an opportunity. Mike has wanted to give Chris this opportunity, and asked we do the best job we can to prepare him and get him ready to play football, and if he can be a positive influence on this football team and help us win football games and be productive as a receiver, and get better as a receiver, and we feel that way after the suspension is over that he has a chance to win a spot. That's what he asked me to do, and that's what we're going to do,' Lewis said.
The Huddle Take: This is an interesting piece of news in that Henry seems to have the interest of someone who can control his destiny to a point. With friends in high places he can become a mid season pick up (he can't play until week five) who will likely have a decent number of passes thrown his way and a few TDs to mix in if all plays out as it has in the past for Henry and the Bengals. All this being said, only bother with him if you're desperate for some kind of WR help, because there is a ton of risk involved here.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports the Cincinnati Bengals have signed free-agent WR Chris Henry (Bengals) to a one-year contract.
The Huddle Take: Despite his off the field problems, Henry has an unquestionable talent and in the eyes of the Bengals he already knows their system which certainly adds value to him. With the disgruntled Chad Johnson nursing a shoulder injury and T.J. Houshmanzadeh out with a hamstring, Henry could find himself in a nice position to lead the Bengals offense as a starting wide receiver after he serves his four-game suspension to start the season. We consider him a No. 3 wide receiver for fantasy leagues with nice upside after he returns to action.

The Associated Press reports free-agent WR Chris Henry (Bengals) has been suspended four games by the NFL. Henry would be allowed to participate in training camp and preseason games if he is signed by a team.
The Huddle Take: With the talent that Henry possesses it would be hard to believe that he would not be picked up soon by a team needing a good third receiver. Despite his off the field problems, Henry is a playmaker and could make a nice addition to a team that plans on showcasing its passing game this season. He is the ultimate high risk but high reward player and is worth picking up in Dynasty and Keeper leagues at the present time.

The Associated Press reports Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis is not interested in having free-agent WR Chris Henry (Bengals) rejoin the team. 'I don't think it would be productive for our football team' for Henry to play for Cincinnati again, according to Lewis.
The Huddle Take: If Henry is reinstated as expected by the NFL then the talented wideout should land with a new team sometime during training camp. There is no questioning his talent as Henry could be a real asset for a team looking to make a run toward the playoffs this season. If he gets into the right situation Henry has all the tools to make a solid No. 3 fantasy receiver with the upside to do better if he can keep his mind on football.

ESPNews reports the Cincinnati Bengals are showing preliminary interest in re-signing free-agent WR Chris Henry.
The Huddle Take: He's got skills, but do they really want to have to worry about receiving that 3 a.m. phone call again? You would think they'd be willing to pass that headache on to some other team.

The Associated Press reports free-agent WR Chris Henry (Bengals) plans to apply for reinstatement by the NFL immediately after prosecutors dropped the last remaining charge against him Monday, July 14, according to his agent Perry Ancona. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the league will review all factors at the appropriate time.
The Huddle Take: This certainly could make things interesting as the Ex-Bengals receiver will likely generate a fair amount of interest from teams if he is indeed reinstated by the NFL. Henry has always been considered a talented receiver since coming into the league the only thing holding him back has been his off the field issues. Fantasy owners should continue to follow this developing story but only Dynasty and Keeper league owners should see any value in Henry at the present time.

The Dayton Daily News reports suspended free-agent WR Chris Henry (Bengals), during an interview on Sportstalk 980 Show on WONE-AM, said he is going to handle himself like a professional at all times and will stay away from the wrong people to avoid putting himself into a bad situation. Henry said it has been a long three months since his release from the Cincinnati Bengals. Henry, who is under an indefinite suspension by the league, plans to spend time in North Carolina working out with hopes of being in shape should he be allowed to return to the league and another team shows interest.
The Huddle Take: What a tremendous talent Henry can be if he could just focus on football and stay away from trouble off the field. It is likely that the Ex-Bengal wideout will get another chance at some point to contribute to an NFL team but don't expect that chance to come very soon in light of all the problems Henry has faced in recent brushes with the law. The NFL will likely require a strict path for Henry to be reinstated in the league. He is currently not worthy of a roster spot in fantasy leagues at the present time.

The Associated Press reports a judge declared a mistrial in the assault case of free-agent WR Chris Henry (Bengals). A jury in Cincinnati told the judge Tuesday, July 1, they were unable to agree on a verdict.
The Huddle Take: Does it really matter? Surely no team's going to touch this guy unless he shows he can somehow stay out of trouble for, say, a year. There is a possibility that Henry's suspension could be lifted as a result of the mistrial, but it's a small one. Henry almost makes the former "Pacman" Jones look like a choirboy.

Ex-Bengal WR Chris Henry has been suspended indefinately by the NFL pending the outcome of his upcoming trial because of his fifth arrest. This most recent arrest has come because Henry has been charged with assault and criminal damaging. Henry will appear in Hamiliton County Common Plea Court on June 24th.
The Huddle Take: What a tragic set of circumstances for a receiver with so much talent and ability. Henry, prior to last season had excelled in the Bengals high-octane offense as a third receiver and down-field threat. However, with his release from the team earlier in the offseason, Henry has become a casualty of his own bad choices in what may have cost him a potentially star-studded career in the NFL. Fantasy owners should not hold onto Henry in any league format which includes Dynasty and Keeper leagues.

Updating an earlier report, the Cincinnati Bengals released WR Chris Henry after he was charged with assault and crimminal damaging of property. Henry has been arrested five times since 2005.
The Huddle Take: It is yet to be seen what the outcome of the charges against Henry will yield, however fantasy owners should downgrade Henry in all league formats except dynasty leagues where he should still retain some value. Look for the troubled receiver to latch onto another team at some point but there is no way of knowing when that will be.
