The Associated Press reports Dallas Cowboys RB Marion Barber III (toe) will be a game-time decision for Week 17, according to head coach Wade Phillips.
The Huddle Take: How things have changed in a year for Barber with the Cowboys. Not only has he been called out by owner Jerry Jones, but he has been suffering from a toe injury that has limited his production for fantasy owners down the stretch. Barber will likely play but backup RB Tashard Choice figures to factor greatly into the offense in Week 17 also.

Dallas Cowboys RB Marion Barber III (toe) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 25. He will be a game-time decision for Week 17.
The Huddle Take: Rookie RB Tashard Choice has been excellent while filling in for Barber. So, barring a very quick and very significant improvement to that toe, look for the Cowboys to continue to be very cautious and give Barber spot duty at best.

Dallas Cowboys RB Marion Barber III (toe) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 19. He is listed as questionable for the team's Week 16 game and will be a game-time decision. He will work out before the game to determine his availability.
The Huddle Take: Don't expect Barber to be anywhere close to 100 percent. In fact, it'll be a surprise if he's even dressed for the game. Tashard Choice will carry the load for Dallas against the Ravens.

Dallas Cowboys RB Marion Barber III (toe) missed the team's practiced Wednesday, Dec. 17. Head coach Wade Phillips said Barber's status is the same as last week, where he started the team's Week 15 game but was limited. There is a chance Barber will be active for Week 16 but will not start.
The Huddle Take: Barber appeared to aggravate his toe injury late in the Cowboys' win last weekend, and Tashard Choice has looked very good against a couple of top-ranked defenses. This week's matchup with the Ravens is tough enough; mix in a nagging injury and the prospect of a shared workload and MB3 is a risky fantasy play at best.

The Dallas Morning News reports Dallas Cowboys RB Marion Barber III (toe) may have re-injured his toe during the team's Week 15 game. He is scheduled to be re-evaluated Monday, Dec. 15.
The Huddle Take: Head coach Wade Phillips said during his press conference today that he thought Barber came out of last night's game OK, so there's apparently some conflicting information here. Regardless, Tashard Choice has proven in the last two games that he's a more-than-capable replacement, so there's no rush for Barber to get back to 100 percent. If Barber checks out OK, he'll probably share some of the load with Choice, but Choice will undoubtedly be the man this week. Seeing how he's performed against the extremely tough run defenses of the Steelers and Giants the last two weeks, there doesn't look to be any reason to think he can't do well against the Ravens this week.

Dallas Cowboys RB Marion Barber III (toe) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 12. He is listed as questionable for the team's Week 15 game.
The Huddle Take: If Barber does manage to play this week, he'll likely be very limited. Look for Tashard Choice to get plenty of opportunities to tote the rock against the Giants.
Posted: 12/12/2008 12:24pm et
Dallas Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips said RB Marion Barber III (toe) can run full speed ahead without any difficulty, but the problem is with cutting.
The Huddle Take: Tashard Choice looked pretty good last week against the Steelers, so if MB3 is limited the Cowboys have options. Dallas plays on Sunday night, so you may be forced to make your fantasy lineup decision without all the necessary information—unless you have the luxury of choosing between Barber and Choice.

Tom Orsborn, of the Express-News, reports Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday, Dec. 9, that he never meant to question RB Marion Barber III's (toe) toughness after the back sat out Dallas' Week 14 game. 'We all know how tough Marion Barber is, but when he had his injury I felt, look, you'd have to shoot him to keep him off the football field,' Jones said. 'So I was surprised that we didn't have him. That's not meant to be critical of his toughness. It did come out that way, but fundamentally it was because he is so tough that you would have thought that he could play.'
The Huddle Take: Hard to believe anyone would question the toughness of a bull rusher like Barber. This was just a nonevent the media tried to create.

Dallas Cowboys RB Marion Barber III (toe) did not play in the team's Week 14 game because of a toe injury. He developed some calf soreness late last week because he was compensating for his toe injury. The Cowboys hope he can practice this week and play in Week 15.
The Huddle Take: It's truly a worrisome sign when someone as tough as Barber has to sit out a game because of soreness. The toe has apparently healed very well, but the calf is a definite concern. If Barber can go full speed in practice Wednesday and Thursday, there's a great chance he'll play. But keep in mind that Tashard Choice will likely still get a significant amount of carries even if Barber plays, considering how impressive Choice was against Pittsburgh.

The Dallas Morning News reports Dallas Cowboys RB Marion Barber III (toe) is not participating in practice Friday, Dec. 5. He will be a game-time decision for Week 14.
The Huddle Take: The Cowboy training staff has been working feverishly to try and find Barber a shoe he can somewhat comfortably wear, one that will allow him to plant and cut with a minimum of pain. But the fact Barber's still not participating in practice is a sign those efforts have been in vain. Barber is the type of guy who will tell the trainer to shoot him up and go gut it out. Whether that's going to happen or not is a question, however. Even if he does play, Tashard Choice and the newly signed Alonzo Coleman (who Dallas signed off the practice squad) will likely take a lot of carries. And we haven't even mentioned the lousy matchup Barber would face against the Pittsburgh defense, even if he was 100 percent.
