The Associated Press reports New York Giants LB Michael Boley has been suspended for the first game of the regular season due to an incident from 2008, when Boley was arrested and charged with battery on his wife after she accused him of becoming 'too physical' after an argument. The NFL said the suspension stems from that episode.
The Huddle Take: Boley's a significant part of the New York defense, but obviously a one-game suspension won't be a huge problem. No need to downgrade the Giant D due to this development.

The New York Daily News reports the Giants have officially signed free-agent LB Michael Boley to a five-year, $25 million deal with $11 million guaranteed.
The Huddle Take: Boley sparkled in 2007 but struggled last season in a less aggressive scheme under Atlanta's new regime. He will at minimum battle Chase Blackburn for the weakside job and could be a real IDP sleeper if he wins that battle.
