The Tennessean reports Tennessee Titans TE Bo Scaife (knee) did not participate in practice Thursday, Sept. 17, but head coach Jeff Fisher said he worked out indoors. Scaife has not been ruled out of Week 2 at this time, but it is looking like there is a good chance he will not play.

The Huddle Take: If Scaife can't go, look for Alge Crumpler to see a lot of playing time this week. He should be able to improve significantly upon the 2 catches for 5 yards he put up against Pittsburgh in Week 1.

Jim Wyatt, David Climer and Gary Estwick, of The Tennessean, report Tennessee Titans TE Bo Scaife believed the hit he received from Pittsburgh Steelers LB James Harrison that injured his knee was a cheap shot because he dove at Scaife's leg. Scaife said his knee injury is not too bad.

The Huddle Take: Harrison tackled Scaife low, which isn't uncommon when making an open-field tackle. Maybe Scaife was more frustrated about dropping the ball and grabbing his knee while the play was still in progress, turning the ball over to the Steelers.

Terry McCormick, of the Nashville City Paper, reports the Tennessee Titans were not able to reach an agreement on a long-term contract with franchise player TE Bo Scaife before the Wednesday, July 15th deadline.

The Huddle Take: The Titans drafted Jared Cook in the third round this year, so it's understandable that they were not looking to throw a ton of money at Scaife to lock him up long-term. Conversely, a big year from Scaife could earn him a larger paycheck elsewhere.

The Buffalo News reports the Bills may be interested in Tennessee Titans impending free-agent TE Bo Scaife this offseason.

The Huddle Take: The Bills have been looking for help at the position for some time—especially in Turk Schoenert's offense, which is based on the old Sam Wyche/Cincinnati Bengals' attack that featured Rodney Holman. Scaife is a solid receiver and could flourish in a system that relied heavily on the tight end.
