ESPN reports the Cleveland Browns are expected to name QB Brady Quinn the team's starting quarterback for Week 10, according to two sources. The Browns, however, are not making an official announcement regarding their quarterback situation until Wednesday, Nov. 11. One team source said Quinn and QB Derek Anderson were informed of the decision last week, though neither has acknowledged he was informed of head coach Eric Mangini's decision. Another team official said Tuesday, Nov. 10, that he did not have any knowledge of Mangini delivering the news to his quarterbacks. Two other sources said they expected Quinn to be named starter.
The Huddle Take: Whoever starts, expect them to be fodder for the Baltimore defense. The Raven D may not be as formidable as in the recent past, but it's still a quality unit that will make life miserable for the Browns. While Baltimore may not be the best Fantasy D/ST option a lot of weeks, it will be a great one in Week 10.

The Associated Press reports Cleveland Browns head coach Eric Mangini has no plans to bench QB Derek Anderson in favor of QB Brady Quinn. Anderson has completed just 23 of 70 passes in the last three games.
The Huddle Take: And opposing defensive coordinators throughout the league rejoiced at the news. In Weeks 15 and 16 the Browns play Kansas City and Oakland, respectively. If you're in your league's playoffs and your defenses don't have great matchups those weeks, well, Kansas City and Oakland will -- no matter who is under center for the Browns.

The Associated Press reports Cleveland Browns QB Derek Anderson was 12-for-29 for 99 yards with an interception Week 7 against the Green Bay Packers.
The Huddle Take: The Browns offense continues to sputter regardless of who the quarterback is for the team. There is really no reason for any fantasy team to take a chance on starting a Cleveland quarterback until they can find some consistency on offense.

The Medina County Gazette, reports Cleveland Browns QB Derek Anderson (ankle) practiced in full Friday, Oct. 23, and he is probable for Week 7.
The Huddle Take: Despite the fact that Anderson is in line to start this week, the Cleveland quarterback could have a tough time against a Packer defensive unit that has been playing better of late. Anderson and the Browns have struggled on offense for most of the season and this week does not look to be any different. Fantasy owners should proceed with caution if you are looking toward Anderson as a bye week replacement.

Cleveland Browns QB Derek Anderson (ankle) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 21.
The Huddle Take: Regardless of who is starting at quarterback for the Browns they have been wildly inconsistent this season and hard to recommend starting for fantasy teams against any opponent. Temper your expectations during the bye weeks and proceed with caution if you are looking to utilize Anderson as a bye week replacement.

The Associated Press reports Cleveland Browns QB Derek Anderson was 2-for-17 for 23 yards with an interception Week 5.
The Huddle Take: OUCH... what a dismal performance for Anderson who was facing a Buffalo defensive unit that surrendered 38 points to the Dolphins a week earlier. If this is any indication then fantasy owners may want to steer clear of the Browns from a fantasy standpoint until it becomes clearer that the offense can produce some consistent points for fantasy squads.

The Associated Press reports Cleveland Browns QB Derek Anderson will start the team's Week 4 game.
The Huddle Take: Well at least they didn't play their usual games and wait until Sunday to decide on the starting quarterback. This has little fantasy relevance since the Cleveland starting quarterback shouldn't be on a fantasy roster at this point, regardless who it is.

The Associated Press reports Cleveland Browns head coach Eric Mangini said he did not know who would start the team's Week 4 game at quarterback. QB Brady Quinn was pulled at halftime of the team's Week 3 game, but QB Derek Anderson threw three interceptions in the second half of the game.
The Huddle Take: Quinn is still the better fit for Mangini's preferred offensive scheme and, thanks to Anderson's penchant for picks, should find himself back at the helm of Cleveland's moribund offense this week.

CBSSports.com reports Cleveland Browns head coach Eric Mangini has decided who his starting quarterback will be for Week 1 but will not reveal his decision as he wants to make defensive planning more difficult for the Minnesota Vikings, the team's Week 1 opponent. Mangini added he expects QBs Brady Quinn and Derek Anderson to prepare as though they are starters.
The Huddle Take: Fantasy owners have no business having anything to do with either of these quarterbacks. Period. End of story. If one of them ends up starting two weeks in a row...then we can discuss it. Till then, avoid like the plague.

George M. Thomas, of The Beacon Journal, reports Cleveland Browns head coach Eric Mangini still is not tipping his hand as to whether QB Brady Quinn or QB Derek Anderson will be the team's starting quarterback in Week 1.
The Huddle Take: Ah, that wily Mangini, making the Vikings prepare for both Quinn and Anderson. Quinn is the better fit for Mangini's preferred offensive style, but there's a chance the Browns are thinking with their pocketbooks and will use Anderson rather than let Quinn reach performance-based escalator clauses in his contract.
