Huddle Up: Dunbar is listed as the No. 2 back behind DeMarco Murray and has the talent to produce in a limited role, but at only 5-8 and 190 pounds, it's hard to imagine him shouldering the starting load for more than a game or 2 if something happens to Murray..

Huddle Up: If you're debating who to back up oft-injured DeMarco Murray with, Dunbar might be the more enticing choice based on how the Cowboys might use him with or without Murray in the lineup.

Huddle Up: Dunbar had a good game against Oakland on Thursday rushing for 82 yards on 12 carries. The ineffective Joseph Randle will once again be DeMarco Murray's backup.

Huddle Up: This crushing news comes on the heels of Dunbar's best game as a pro -- 82 rushing yards, 12 receiving on 13 touches -- in the Cowboys' Thanksgiving win over the Raiders. Look for rookie Joseph Randle to move back into the No. 2 RB role behind the surging Demarco Murray.

Huddle Up: Starter DeMarco Murray had 20 of the Cowboys' 21 RB carries in Week 1 with Phillip Tanner sneaking in 1, but Dunbar -- the Murray handcuff you want -- will be in line for a bigger cut of the pie when he's healthy.

Huddle Up: Dunbar was in line to be the Cowboys' No. 2 back behind DeMarco Murray, but his sprained left foot as put that on hold for now. Fifth-round pick Joseph Randle will likely open the season in that role, but look for Dunbar to reclaim the role once he's healthy.
