Dallas Cowboys RB Lance Dunbar (knee) hasn't missed a snap this offseason and should fill the third-down back role for the team this year.

Huddle Up: Dunbar is listed as the No. 2 back behind DeMarco Murray and has the talent to produce in a limited role, but at only 5-8 and 190 pounds, it's hard to imagine him shouldering the starting load for more than a game or 2 if something happens to Murray..

Dallas Cowboys RB Lance Dunbar (knee) said he feels 100 percent after missing the end of last season with a knee injury, and running backs coach Gary Brown plans to use the healthy Dunbar in variety of ways this season. 'Well, he's a guy that's going to be a complete weapon,' Brown said. 'We can line him up anywhere on the team-tailback spot, at the wide receiver spot, in the slot. He has tremendous hands and he's just not a specialty guy.'

Huddle Up: If you're debating who to back up oft-injured DeMarco Murray with, Dunbar might be the more enticing choice based on how the Cowboys might use him with or without Murray in the lineup.

Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys RB Lance Dunbar (knee) needs to undergo season-ending surgery to repair a lateral collateral ligament. The normal recovery time for the surgery is three months.

Huddle Up: Dunbar had a good game against Oakland on Thursday rushing for 82 yards on 12 carries. The ineffective Joseph Randle will once again be DeMarco Murray's backup.

The Dallas Cowboys RB Lance Dunbar (knee) has a season-ending knee injury that will require surgery after an initial MRI. The expected recovery time is three months.

Huddle Up: This crushing news comes on the heels of Dunbar's best game as a pro -- 82 rushing yards, 12 receiving on 13 touches -- in the Cowboys' Thanksgiving win over the Raiders. Look for rookie Joseph Randle to move back into the No. 2 RB role behind the surging Demarco Murray.
