The Associated Press reports Green Bay Packers RB Ryan Grant had 27 carries for 148 yards with a touchdown Week 7.
The Huddle Take: Grant was certainly a workhorse in Week 7 and carried the Packers offense for much of the day as they controlled the ball and kept the inept Browns offense off the field. Grant is a solid No. 2 running back with upside to be even better in the second half of the season.

The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports the Green Bay Packers appear committed to sticking with RB Ryan Grant as their starting running back, even though he is averaging just 3.8 yards per carry this season.
The Huddle Take: The average isn't where the Packers want it to be, he's only seen the end zone twice and has yet to notch a 100-yard game. But it appears Grant will continue to be the Packers' No. 1 running option for the foreseeable future.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports Green Bay Packers RB Ryan Grant would spend most days during the off season running up and down the steps of Lambeau Field for 45 minutes. Grant said he needed to work on his explosion this year. 'Because the explosion between the first 7 yards to 10 yards in our offense is what makes the big plays,' Grant noted. Grant said the team's offensive line has also improved from the mental errors they made a year ago, which should help him. Grant also worked with sleds and drill work, as he tried to improve his ability to stop, make a cut and switch direction.
The Huddle Take: Grant is being drafted relatively low, but has moved up as the season has gotten closer. He's primed to have a very good year, as teams realize they'll have to respect the passing game, meaning Grant just has to take care of business inside, which he looks ready to do. He's one of just a few backs not really in a tandem situation, so that alone puts him higher than many other backs on the rankings.

Jason Wilde, of the Wisconsin State Journal, reports Green Bay Packers RB Ryan Grant said he is back to feeling himself after dealing with a hamstring injury last season. 'I do feel more explosive. But more than that, just healthy. I feel healthy,' Grant said. 'I can burst, I don't have to think about anything. When you're healthy, it's different. I thought about (the hamstring) a lot last year. A lot of times, I couldn't hit it. Mentally, I'd see it, but I couldn't hit it. I didn't have that burst. You don't know, you're just trying to gauge it. And the way I run, there's no time for gauging.'
The Huddle Take: Grant is turning in a sleeper of sorts this summer - at the least an undervalued player. His draft stock fell after last year but he played injured much of the year and now is healthy. Bump him up a few notches in your rankings.

Kevin Seifert, of ESPN.com, reports Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson said although the team likes the idea of having a 1-2 punch at the running back position with RBs Ryan Grant and Brandon Jackson, the team envisions Grant being the main guy. "I think you need multiple guys, and we think we have some guys that can step in and play. We've put a lot of burden on Ryan the last couple of years, and I think in an ideal situation we would have some guys step in and take some of those reps, but we feel like Ryan will be our guy."
The Huddle Take: This is good news for those looking for a healthy Grant to bounce back from a sub-par 2008 campaign.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports Green Bay Packers RB Ryan Grant said the hamstring injury he had at the start of the 2008 season hampered what he was able to do. This year he wants to break long-distance runs. He had a 57-yard run in the season opener, but failed to rush for longer than 22 yards on a play the rest of the way. 'The explosion on the big run is a big thing for me and I'm getting that back. I'm able to do that now because my legs are strong. I can do whatever I want, training-wise,' Grant said.
The Huddle Take: Grant is certainly a rising star in the NFL and while limited last season due to injury the talented running back still managed to turn in a solid 2008 season. Look for even better things this year as Grant seems to be recovered from his injury and ready to return to his 2007 form that earned him the starting running back job for Green Bay. He is a nice No. 2 running back options for fantasy teams of all formats.

The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports Green Bay Packers RB Ryan Grant (thumb) participated in practice Friday, Dec. 5. He is listed as probable for the team's Week 14 game and will play.
The Huddle Take: Grant appears ready to play in Week 14 but fantasy owners involved in the first round of their league playoff may want to consider other options at least for this week as he will likely split carries with Brandon Jackson. Grant should be viewed as a No. 3 running back for this week only and worthy of starting if you don't have any other options on your roster.

The Green Bay Press-Gazette, reports Green Bay Packers RB Ryan Grant (thumb) fully participated in practice with a large splint on his hand Wednesday, Dec. 3. He is expected to play in the team's Week 14 game.
The Huddle Take: Fantasy owners need to be concerned about the status of Grant heading into the playoffs especially if he plays with a large splint that could cause him problems holding onto the ball. Grant is a nice No. 2 running back but don't expect the production out of him that you are accustom too in light of his injury status. Fellow running back Brandon Jackson should also see a fair amount of carries down the stretch.

The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports Green Bay Packers RB Ryan Grant (thumb) left the team's Week 13 game with a sprained thumb. He will wear a big splint in practice this week and is likely to play in Week 14.
The Huddle Take: Grant is almost as injury prone as Ahman Green, but seems to be able to play through a bit more of it than Green ever could. This is a positive in its own right, but it is still troubling that he's so banged up all the time. At this point though he appears to remain a solid start.
