St. Louis Rams RB Isaiah Pead is expected to compete for the starting running back job during offseason workouts and training camp. Head coach Jeff Fisher said Pead will not be used as punt returner and would only be a kick returner if he is used as a returner at all.
Huddle Up: Pead, who rushed for only 54 yards on 10 carries as a rookie last season, figures to be competing with fellow 2nd-year back Daryl Richardson and likely a draft pick or 2 with Steven Jackson moving on to Atlanta.

St. Louis Rams RB Isaiah Pead showed well late in the Week 8 game against the New England Patriots, and head coach Jeff Fisher indicated he might have earned more playing time. 'We are going to try to get him some touches. It makes sense. You are playing in an NFL game; you are playing against NFL players and for him to flash like that regardless of the situation in the game was pretty impressive,' Fisher said.
Huddle Up: Pead, a popular pre-season sleeper, has nowhere to go but up with only 4 rushes and 6 touches in 7 games so far. Three of those attempts came in Week 8 when he gained 32 yards against the Patriots in London. Pead is worth a speculative pickup again, parricularly in deeper leagues.

The St. Louis Rams have signed second-round draft choice RB Isaiah Pead. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Huddle Up: Pead was drafted to spell Steven Jackson this year but HC Jeff Fisher and OC Brian Schottenheimer might be planning for slightly more "committee" than you think. Fisher surely has fond memories of LenDale White & (rookie) Chris Johnson sharing the rock in 2008 and spearheading a 13-3 record.
