Updating a previous report, Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) is expected to be inactive for the Week 9 game against the Atlanta Falcons in London, according to a source Friday, Oct. 24.

Huddle Up: With Bush out, Joique Bell will carry the load for the Lions against a struggling Atlanta defense. Bell is a strong RB2 this week.

  • Posted: 10/24/2014 10:57am ET

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) missed practice Friday, Oct. 24, but said he will play in Week 8 Sunday, Oct. 26.

Huddle Up: While Bush may be available for the Lions, expect Joique Bell to be Detroit's primary back. And after watching Reggie leave the Lions' last game due to injury it may be tough for fantasy owners to bank on him sticking around long enough to be a fantasy factor here.

  • Posted: 10/23/2014 2:36pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) is not practicing Thursday, Oct. 23.

Huddle Up: The red flags continue to fly for Bush, who looks to be headed in the wrong direction after at least getting in limited work Wednesday. He still may play Sunday but be very wary of starting him.

  • Posted: 10/22/2014 3:43pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 22.

Huddle Up: The lingering ankle issue is proving rather troublesome for Bush, who's only totaled 69 rushing yards and 71 receiving yards with no scores over the Lions' last 4 games -- one of which he missed entirely. He should play Sunday, but definitely temper your fantasy expectations.

  • Posted: 10/20/2014 10:44am ET

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) was not benched in the Week 7 game against the New Orleans Saints. Bush only played a handful of snaps in the second half in favor of RB Joique Bell because his ankle was bothering him, according to head coach Jim Caldwell.

Huddle Up: The Lions have a stable of backs they've needed to shuffle around due to nagging injuries, with Bell seeing the bulk of the work and Bush missing the bulk of the time. No word on if the injury will keep him out of next week's game; he'll likely miss some practice time and his fantasy owners will need to get up early on Sunday for the morning game to see if he'll be in the lineup.

  • Posted: 10/17/2014 6:33pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) fully participated in practiced Friday, Oct. 17, and is probable for the team's Week 7 game.

Huddle Up: As promised, Bush will return to action Sunday and give the Lions a needed big-play threat in the continued absence of Calvin Johnson.

  • Posted: 10/15/2014 3:44pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) is participating in practice Wednesday, Oct. 15.

Huddle Up: The week is off to a good start for Bush, who has said he will return to action Sunday after sitting out the Week 6 win in Minnesota.

  • Posted: 10/10/2014 4:13pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) said he will test his ankle sprain this weekend, but he will not push to play in Week 6 against the Minnesota Vikings if he's not ready. Bush learned from WR Calvin Johnson's (ankle) situation when he aggravated the injury last week trying to play on it. 'I'm going to weigh all options and see how we feel on Sunday and if I can go, I'm going to go, but I'm only going to go out there if I feel like I can be myself,' Bush said. he said he's been improving daily, but he didn't practice all week.

Huddle Up: With a third missed practice Friday and the comparisons to Johnson's injury, it's certainly not looking good for Bush. Joique Bell, meanwhile, is feeling good after sitting out Week 5 with a concussion, and looks to be in line for the Lions' share of the work Sunday in Minneapolis.

  • Posted: 10/9/2014 8:11pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 9.

Huddle Up: Bush hasn't practiced all week but is telling reporters his ankle is fine. What transpires Friday in practice will speak the loudest.

  • Posted: 10/6/2014 7:58pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) said he is day-to-day and will do what he can to be on the field for Week 6. He said he is not sure how he suffered the injury. He underwent an MRI on the ankle and is waiting for the results.

Huddle Up: The Lions and ankle issues aren't exactly compatible these days, and Bush was limited to 43 yards on 8 touches Sunday in game where the Joique Bell-less Lions certainly could've used more of his services. It's somewhat scary that Bush doesn't know how or when the injury occurred, but check the status reports to see if it's anything that might linger.

  • Posted: 9/15/2014 10:22am ET

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (knee) was able to play in Week 2 against the Carolina Panthers, but he had just six runs for 26 yards and two receptions for six yards. It appears the team is trying to spread the reps among its backs and trying to limit the wear and tear on Bush's body at the same time.

Huddle Up: Joique Bell paced the Lions' backfield in touches, though neither was particularly effective against a stout Panthers D. Going forward this backfield appears to be taking on many of the traits that OC Joe Lombardi's former team, the Saints, exhibited--and for fantasy purposes that's going to be frustrating.

  • Posted: 9/11/2014 5:59pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (knee) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Sept. 11.

Huddle Up: Despite Wednesday's ice-pack reports, Bush has participated in both Lions' workouts this week and looks like he'll be a full-go against the formidable Panthers' D this Sunday.

  • Posted: 8/26/2014 11:55pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush will probably sit out the team's preseason finale Thursday, Aug. 28, as head coach Jim Caldwell plans to give his veterans some extra rest.

Huddle Up: Bush, who is currently the 16th RB being drafted, showed he was ready for the games that matter with an 86-yard scoring sprint in the exhibition win over the Jaguars last Friday night.

  • Posted: 8/5/2014 11:18am ET

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush is 29 years old and about to enter his ninth NFL season, but he does not feel old and wants to play many more years. 'I don't want to put a timetable on it because I don't know,' Bush said. 'I don't know if it's five (years), four, three, six. I'm not sure. But I know if I get to 15 that'll be a blessing.' The coaching staff has done a careful job of managing his repetitions, with several other viable running backs to help shoulder the load, according to running backs coach Curtis Modkins.

Huddle Up: The Lions do have a stable of backs so they don't need to overwork Bush in the preseason. That might also cost him a few looks on game day, but not to the point he won't still be an effective football player--both for the Lions and for fantasy owners.

  • Posted: 5/23/2014 11:38am ET

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush would like to extend his playing career past the 2016 season, and he would like to retire in Detroit if at all possible. "I don't want to bounce around from city to city, from team to team. I think I have something good going here, have been really getting to know the city over the past year and just really looking forward to bringing a championship here someday and making history," Bush said.

Huddle Up: Something to keep in mind if you're holding Bush in a dynasty league. The fast track and Detroit's passing offense are good fits for Bush's skill set, and if he's able to stay healthy and stick around for a few more years in Detroit he'll continue to be a solid fantasy contributor.

  • Posted: 4/10/2014 3:45pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush said he is fine with a potentially smaller workload in 2014. RB Joique Bell is expected to cut into Bush's workload more this season.

Huddle Up: Bush had 277 touches this past season to Bell's 219, and if the above is true, it's basically shaping up as 50-50 split in the Motor City this coming season. Adjust your draft board accordingly.

  • Posted: 12/17/2013 12:59am ET

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush rushed 17 times for 86 yards and a TD and added 2 catches for 15 yards Monday, Dec. 16 in an 18-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Huddle Up: Bush was back after missing Week 14 with a calf injury and made his presence felt immediately with a 14-yard scoring run to cap the opening drive of the game. He left briefly in the third quarter, igniting fears that his calf injury had been aggravated but he returned and finished with his 8th 100-total-yard game of the season.

  • Posted: 12/14/2013 8:03pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (calf) is questionable for Week 15.

Huddle Up: Bush is expected to play but the fact that his game is on Monday night makes it a bit of a risk for fantasy owners. It's a tough call but expect Bush to be in the lineup and put up solid numbers this week, although Joique Bell is sure to see touches as well.

  • Posted: 12/13/2013 6:28pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (calf) was limited in practice Friday, Dec. 13.

Huddle Up: It's a tough call for Bush owners because his game is on Monday night but Detroit beat writers have given him a strong chance of playing. Watch his status closer to Sunday but it looks like Bush will suit up and be a strong RB2 play against the Ravens this week.

  • Posted: 12/12/2013 4:52pm ET

Updating a previous report, Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (calf) said he will practice Friday, Dec. 13. Bush said he feels good, and sitting out practice Thursday was just precautionary.

Huddle Up: It hasn't been the best of postseasons for Bush's fantasy owners who saw the RB re-aggravate his injury in Week 14 pre-game warmups and then not play. See if the outlook brightens any Friday.

  • Posted: 12/11/2013 1:57pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (calf) said he expects to play in the team's Week 15 game. Bush said he is not sure how he aggravated his calf injury during pregame warmups last week.

Huddle Up: He was expected to play last week before being a late scratch that might have ruined some lineups. Keep an eye on him.

  • Posted: 12/6/2013 6:11pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (calf) was limited in practice Friday, Dec. 6, and is questionable for Week 14.

Huddle Up: Bush may very well play, but go with another option or at least lower your expectations for the RB, who missed the Lions' Wednesday and Thursday practices.

  • Posted: 11/28/2013 5:26pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush had 20 carries for 117 yards and a TD and added 5 catches for 65 yards Thursday, Nov. 28 in a 40-10 rout of the Green Bay Packers.

Huddle Up: Bush's fantasy owners are thankful for the big holiday outing for the RB, who enjoyed his second-highest total yardage day of the season. He hadn't scored since Week 8. Bush's big day didn't come at the expense of backup Joique Bell, either, as Bell had 19 rushes for 94 yards and a TD and # catches for 34 yards himself.

  • Posted: 11/19/2013 10:45pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush disagreed with head coach Jim Schwartz and thinks that he is a running back that can perform well in all conditions. 'I pride myself on being able to run in all conditions, you know what I mean, and I think the opposite,' Bush said. 'I think running in those types of conditions is, for me, I think is better because now the defenders have to be constantly on their heels and toes and we can get guys off-balanced in mud and when it's rainy and slippery, it's kind of an advantage to the running back.' However, he agreed that he didn't play well in adverse conditions in Week 11 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Huddle Up: Bush's fantasy owners hopefully can dismiss it as a one-week disappointment and look for bigger and better things out of the RB over the next two weeks with Lions inside at Ford Field.

  • Posted: 11/19/2013 2:16pm ET

Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz suggested that RB Reggie Bush wasn't used as much in the team's Week 11 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers because of sloppy conditions on the field. 'Reggie in horse racing wouldn't be called a mudder. He's an explosively quick guy. He's better on a fast track,' Schwartz said.

Huddle Up: Bush also lost a fumble and finished with his fewest touches (14) in a game this season in which he wasn't injured. Speaking of injuries, backup Joique Bell tweaked a knee in the contest and enters the week with a question mark next to his status. With that in mind and the Lions back inside this week at Ford Field, expect Bush to return to a full workload.

  • Posted: 11/8/2013 1:49pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush, who rushed for 139 yards in his first meeting with the Chicago Bears this year, knows that their weakness is stopping the run and is ready to exploit it again. 'We feel like there is some room for us to take advantage of them in the run game. We just have to make sure we go in and play fundamentally sound,' Bush said. Chicago is allowing 127.5 rushing yards per game this season, ranking them 29th in the league. They've allowed 408 rushing yards in their last two games.

Huddle Up: The first game against the Bears has been Bush's lone 100-yard rushing effort of the season, but he's done more than all right otherwise and remains a must-start.

  • Posted: 10/26/2013 12:21pm ET

Dallas Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones said he is more concerned about the team defending Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush Week 8 than he is defending WR Calvin Johnson. 'When I look at where we seem to have some vulnerability using the passes out of the backfield, I look at what San Diego did, I look at times what Philadelphia did, if they were able to do anything at all, coming out of that backfield. That seems defensively to be a rough area for us,' Jones said.

Huddle Up: Jones wouldn't be worried about Bush if he owned him on his fantasy team. The Cowboys have given up the 8th most points to fantasy running backs this year and are allowing backs to catch seven balls a game out of the backfield. Bush is in line for a huge game Sunday.

  • Posted: 10/25/2013 1:53pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (quadriceps) is sitting out of practice Friday, Oct. 25. He came onto the field late in practice with ice wrapped above his right knee.

Huddle Up: A late-week injury is cause for a red flag, and his status for Sunday now is under question. We'd warn Bush's fantasy owners to stay on top of the situation but we know they will after this jolting news.
