BuffaloBills.com reports Bills SS Donte Whitner (ankle) said he is looking forward to playing the New York Jets and QB Brett Favre. 'I think he brings another dimension to their offense where they can open it up,' said Whitner. 'Their offense has been all about timing routes with Chad Pennington. Brett can stretch their offense, but we're looking forward to it.'
The Huddle Take: This isn't really a news story, per se, as much as a bit of insight into how opposing defenses now view the Jet offense. If they're going to sell out to the pass, Thomas Jones is going to see a lot of running room. That, plus the fact that he's already a good back, should move Jones to the top of the Tier II backs.

BuffaloBills.com reports Buffalo Bills SS Donte Whitner (ankle) did not participate in practice Monday, Aug. 4, because of an ankle injury he suffered Saturday, Aug. 2. Whitner is scheduled to have an MRI.
The Huddle Take: While it wouldn't break anyone's roster, IDP owners will want to watch this as it develops. Whitner is a solid IDP option in most scoring systems and is a leader on this defense, all of which would be affected if he ends up needing surgery and missing time.
