The Kansas City Chiefs announced Monday, Aug. 20, that LB Tamba Hali has been suspended without pay for the team's Week 1 game, in addition to being fined one additional game check, for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. Hali is eligible to participate in all preseason practices and games. "Tamba's situation is unfortunate," general manager Scott Pioli said in a statement released by the team. "Obviously, we are disappointed and will miss him during this suspension, but the NFL's policies are very clear and we respect the league's decision in this matter. We are unable to comment further on this matter or any aspect of the NFL's Drug Policy."
Huddle Up: Hali will miss the Chiefs' season opener against the Falcons. As if you needed yet another reason to elevate Matt Ryan and Julio Jones, now he'll be feeling even less pressure in Week 1.
