Jacksonville Jaguars TE Marcedes Lewis left the Week 14 game against the New York Jets due to an apparent neck stinger. He was limited to only one catch for four yards on the afternoon.

Huddle Up: Lewis has been a steady contributor of late but was derailed by a stinger Sunday. He should be OK for Week 15 but keep an eye on practice reports this week.

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey said the team has made an effort to get TE Marcedes Lewis more involved recently. 'We have put more in just because of his production,' Mularkey said. 'Some of the things he's showed us; he can do some things better than we thought he could so we've purposely found more things for him to be involved.' Earlier in the year with the offensive line in flux, Lewis often needed to help in pass protection, and QB Blaine Gabbert was not willing to take chances in tight coverage.

Huddle Up: With so many fantasy having disappointing seasons, Lewis could provide a late-season boost. Over the past 2 games with Chad Henne at QB, Lewis has caught 7 passes for 96 yards and a pair of scores.

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey said TE Marcedes Lewis will receive a bigger role in the offense as the offensive line gets healthier.

Huddle Up: Lewis had a big first week but has been quiet since then. He has the potential to put up nice fantasy numbers on a weekly basis if they use him in the passing game more often; he did have 700 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in 2010. Of course, with Blaine Gabbert at the helm, who knows what kind of fantasy production he will have.

Both Jacksonville Jaguars QBs Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne struggled at the goal line in one 7-on-7 period in practice Tuesday, Aug. 14, but Gabbert hit a deep bomb to WR Laurent Robinson in an 11-on-11 drill. Gabbert also showed several nice passes during sideline routes to Robinson and TE Marcedes Lewis.

Huddle Up: The Jags' QB play was a glaring weakness last season as the team finished 32nd in yards per game and 28th in points per outing. Lewis was deeply affected, falling from 10 TD receptions in 2010 to zero -- as in none -- last season. Gabbert has had a full offseason and the team also now has Henne to turn to, so you'd think things would be due to improve ...
