CBSSports.com reports Indianapolis Colts RB Joseph Addai (finger) suffered a finger injury Week 10 and is questionable to return.
The Huddle Take: Joseph Addai briefly left the contest against New England after injuring his finger on a touchdown run early in the game. The injury to Addai does not seem to be serious since he was able to return to the game in the second half. Backup Donald Brown also got some carries in the game as he returned to action from a shoulder injury that had limited him the last few weeks.

John Oehser, of Examiner.com, reports Indianapolis Colts RB Joseph Addai may not have RB Donald Brown's breakaway ability, but Addai has shown this preseason a lot of the missability he had in 2006 and 2007. Addai will likely hold on to the starting job because he is versatile, can block, catch and run. Brown has shown good speed to the hole, and the vision to keep going and make a big play. However, he likely will not start at any point this season.
The Huddle Take: Keep in mind that Addai rushed for 1,000 yards as a rookie despite not starting a single game. In other words, Indy's backfield projects to be a pure committee; what is yet to be determined is whether or not there will be enough production to support two fantasy starters—or just enough to frustrate two fantasy owners.

ESPN.com reports Indianapolis Colts rookie RB Donald Brown looked very good in the team's preseason opener, but it is too early to tell how much action he will pull away from starting RB Joseph Addai. Head coach Jim Caldwell said a two-back system has always been part of what the team has done. 'It's been really effective. ... We anticipate the same thing will happen with the backs we have now,' Caldwell said. He went on to note the game plan will change week to week, as it comes down to who the team's opposition is. 'So our strategy changes on that a bit, but one thing we do know for sure is there will be some kind of rotation,' Caldwell said of his top two backs.
The Huddle Take: This isn't a huge surprise to those who have been paying attention in the off-season. Addai shouldn't be ignored during your draft, obviously, but don't make the mistake of over-valuing him.

The Indianapolis Star reports Indianapolis Colts RBs Joseph Addai and rookie Donald Brown will handle the primary workload at running back in 2009. However, Addai is the team's starting running back despite drafting Brown in the first round this year. Addai is healthy after having offseason surgery on his right knee and is motivated by the team taking Brown. Brown will be given every chance to earn significant playing time. He has game-breaking talent the team would like to work in.
The Huddle Take: Addai is slipping quite a bit in some drafts as owners have been spooked by him after last year's very disappointing performance. This report is encouraging, but it remains to be seen as to whether talk will translate into on the field production. Brown definitely will keep Addai motivated as the season progresses and undoubtedly will steel a few carries and scores from time to time, impacting Addai's overall value.

Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, reports Indianapolis Colts RB Joseph Addai said he recently underwent surgery to clean debris from his knee. He said the rehab from the surgery is going well. He is expected to be fully recovered by the start of training camp.
The Huddle Take: Addai's knee issues most likely had something to do with Indy spending a first-round pick on Donald Brown. Colts backs have been potent fantasy producers in the past, but this year even more than in the past you'll want to have both Addai and Brown to make sure you're covered at the position. Adding Mike Hart is optional.

Indianapolis Colts RB Joseph Addai (shoulder) is not expected to play in Week 17.
The Huddle Take: Addai has been limited much of this season, and the Colts would like him as healthy as possible when they begin their playoff run. Since their playoff seed is set, there's no reason to expose Addai to further injury this week against the Titans.
Posted: 12/18/2008 7:40pm et
Joseph Addai is active for the game in Jacksonville tonight but reports indicate that Dominic Rhodes will start. Bob Sanders and Dallas Clark are also active.
The Huddle Take: Good news for Addai owners with no other alternatives but it appears both he and Rhodes will be used in some mixture and decrease what either could have done by themselves. Rhodes starting suggest Addai could be only playing a complementary role tonight.
Posted: 12/18/2008 12:12pm et
Updating previous reports, The Associated Press reports Indianapolis Colts RB Joseph Addai (shoulder) will likely be a game-time decision during Week 16. Head coach Tony Dungy said Addai wants to play against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Dungy also feels Addai will play but said the team will have to wait and see.
The Huddle Take: At least you'll have all the information you need to make your Addai lineup decision this week since the Colts play Thursday night. Even if Addai plays you can expect Dominic Rhodes to take a significant share of the workload—and production.
Posted: 12/16/2008 5:23pm et
Indianapolis Colts RB Joseph Addai (shoulder) participated in practice Tuesday, Dec. 16. He is expected to play in the team's Week 16 game.
The Huddle Take: Addai's return will obviously mean a downgrade for Dominic Rhodes, but probably not a total one. Rhodes should still get some carries, and there's a good chance he'll get looks at the goal line as Indy tries to minimize the punishment Addai takes.
Posted: 12/15/2008 2:32pm et
Indianapolis Colts RB Joseph Addai (shoulder) is expected to play in the team's Week 16 game.
The Huddle Take: Looks like that production you enjoyed from Dominic Rhodes is going to come to an end as the lead dog gets back for Indianapolis. Unless the Colts want to save some wear-and-tear on Addai by inserting Rhodes in goal line situations, Rhodes will probably return to being a Fantasy afterthought.
