The Patriots finally gave up on their second round pick from 2006 when he could not beat out Jabar Gaffney despite finally remaining healthy.

The Huddle Take: Jackson will likely land elsewhere but he's been nothing but an injury problem and a disappointment even when healthy.

Patriots Football Weekly reports New England Patriots WR Chad Jackson is expected to see plenty of playing time in the team's preseason game Thursday, Aug. 28.

The Huddle Take: Jackson, the 6'1" 215 pound receiver from Florida, is in his second year and has looked good in training camp and the preseason. He is currently battling for the No. 3 receiver position with Kelley Washington where he could be a nice complement to Randy Moss and Wes Welker. With Jackson playing more in the preseason finale due to a rib injury to Welker and the other starters resting to prevent further injury, he could be a nice sleeper candidate later in the season. Keep your eye on Jackson and consider him a No. 4 fantasy receiver with tremendous upside to produce if he gets on the field as a No. 3 receiver for the high octane Patriot offense.
