Denver Broncos TE Owen Daniels, who signed a three-year, $12 million deal with the team Tuesday, March 10, was asked by QB Peyton Manning to attend his Duke passing camp later this month. Daniels brings with him to Denver a reputation as a precise route runner, and he admitted that this offseason will include 'more studying' as head coach Gary Kubiak incorporates new language into Denver's offense.

Huddle Up: Daniels is 32 and prone to injury, but he's also the prototypical tight end in a Gary Kubiak offense. And tight ends in Gary Kubiak offenses--as well as tight ends in Peyton Manning offenses--tend to put up fantasy points.

Baltimore Ravens impending free-agent TE Owen Daniels reached an agreement with the Denver Broncos on Tuesday, March 10, according to sources. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

Huddle Up: The 32-year-old Daniels, who has followed coach Gary Kubiak from Houston to Baltimore and now to the Mile High City, has landed in a good spot as he'll be the primary receiving replacement for the departed Julius Thomas in the Broncos' TE-friendly offense. Daniels paced Ravens' TEs with 48 catches for 527 yards and four scores this past season and should certainly be expected to eclipse those figures with Peyton Manning throwing him the ball this coming campaign.

  • Posted: 2/25/2015 10:49am ET

Free-agent TE Owen Daniels (Ravens) has expressed interest in returning to the Baltimore Ravens, according to head coach John Harbaugh.

Huddle Up: Daniels wouldn't be nearly the fantasy factor he was in Baltimore last year, given that tight end-friendly coordinator Gary Kubiak now coaches the Broncos. That said, if Torrey Smith leaves via free agency Marc Trestman could use Daniels in a Martellus Bennett-type role as essentially a second wide receiver, though Daniels' skill set isn't exactly the same as Bennett's.

  • Posted: 1/15/2015 2:51pm ET

Baltimore Ravens impending free-agent TE Owen Daniels said he would like to re-sign with the Baltimore Ravens this offseason and believes he can play a few more seasons in the NFL.

Huddle Up: Daniels, who will turn 33 this November, caught 48 passes for 527 yards and 4 TDs this past season and finished as a TE2. That also figures to be his ceiling next season if he re-signs with Dennis Pitta possibly coming back from myriad hip issues and second-year TE Crockett Gillmore likely to see his role increase.

  • Posted: 1/9/2015 5:31pm ET

Baltimore Ravens TE Owen Daniels (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 9, and is listed as probable for Saturday's Divisional Round playoff game.

Huddle Up: While the opposing TE will be the focus in Saturday matchup in New England, don't sleep on Daniels who was a key target for Joe Flacco in the wild-card win over the Steelers, catching four of his five targets for 70 yards.

  • Posted: 11/20/2014 6:44pm ET

Baltimore Ravens TE Owen Daniels (non-injury) is taking the day off practice Thursday, Nov. 20.

Huddle Up: No worries for the TE who will be good to go for the Ravens on Monday night coming off a bye week.

  • Posted: 10/31/2014 3:35pm ET

Baltimore Ravens TE Owen Daniels (knee) returned to practice Friday, Oct. 31, and is considered a game-time decision for the team's Week 9 game.

Huddle Up: Daniels missed Week 8 after undergoing an arthroscopic knee procedure, and it wouldn't be shocking to see him sit again this week. The worst news for his fantasy owners is that the Ravens don't play until Sunday night, so the safe play is getting another TE in your lineup now.

  • Posted: 10/30/2014 4:41pm ET

Baltimore Ravens TE Owen Daniels (knee) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 30.

Huddle Up: It's a downgrade for Daniels, who at least participated in individual drills Wednesday, and it's starting to look like the TE could miss a second straight game. Check back Friday, though, for a more definitive prognosis.

  • Posted: 10/29/2014 2:38pm ET

Baltimore Ravens TE Owen Daniels (knee) is participating in practice Wednesday, Oct. 29.

Huddle Up: Daniels sat out Week 9 after undergoing a knee "clean-up" procedure last week so monitor his progress throughout the week.

  • Posted: 10/24/2014 2:48pm ET

Baltimore Ravens TE Owen Daniels (knee) underwent a cleanup procedure on his knee and will not play in Week 8 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Head coach John Harbaugh said he doesn't expect Daniels to miss much time.

Huddle Up: It's a bit of a scramble for Daniels' owners trying to replace fantasy's 11th-ranked TE on short notice. Third-round pick Crockett Gillmore is in line to start for Baltimore, and he has only 3 receptions for 29 yards so far.

  • Posted: 10/23/2014 2:57pm ET

Baltimore Ravens TE Owen Daniels (knee) is not participating in practice Thursday, Oct. 23.

Huddle Up: That's 2 missed practices in 2 days for the veteran TE, but see what happens Friday before making any concrete lineup decisions.

  • Posted: 10/20/2014 10:44am ET

Baltimore Ravens TE Owen Daniels was targeted by QB Joe Flacco nine times Sunday, Oct. 19, and caught six balls for 58 yards and a touchdown in Week 7. Daniels is second on the team with 27 catches, 275 yards and three touchdowns. 'He makes catches in traffic,' Flacco said. 'He obviously has held onto the ball a lot of times while getting hit by two guys, even one in the end zone. So, yes, I have a lot of confidence throwing to him.'

Huddle Up: No surprise that Daniels is standing out in a Gary Kubiak offense he's intimately familiar with. His role seems secure as one of the Ravens' top three pass catchers, and he'll see enough looks to be a fantasy factor the rest of the way.

  • Posted: 10/17/2014 3:45pm ET

Baltimore Ravens TE Owen Daniels (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 17, and is listed as probable for Week 7.

Huddle Up: Daniels' fantasy owners are hoping for a rebound game following his 2-34 showing last week in Tampa, but it's a tough matchup this week as the Falcons -- believe it or not -- allow the fewest fantasy points to opposing TEs.

  • Posted: 10/9/2014 5:56pm ET

Baltimore Ravens TE Owen Daniels (non-injury) is not participating in practice Thursday, Oct. 9, because he is receiving the day off.

Huddle Up: No worries for the Ravens' starter who has caught 9 of his 13 targets for 113 yards over his last 2 games.

  • Posted: 9/25/2014 10:31am ET

Baltimore Ravens TE Owen Daniels is expected to carry the majority of the workload at the position. The team still plans to utilize the position as much as before, and TE Phillip Supernaw said Daniels is moving as well as he has seen him move.

Huddle Up: Daniels is intimately familiar with the role, having played for Gary Kubiak in this offense in Houston. So long as he's able to stay healthy Daniels will be a fantasy contributor--not to the extent Dennis Pitta was, but certainly worthy of weekly fantasy consideration.

  • Posted: 9/2/2014 3:43pm ET

Baltimore Ravens TE Owen Daniels admitted that he was dealing with a hamstring issue during the last couple weeks of training camp.

Huddle Up: If Daniels is gimpy, that only makes Dennis Pitta a stronger TE1 option this Sunday against the Bengals.

  • Posted: 8/21/2014 3:41pm ET

Baltimore Ravens TE Owen Daniels (leg) is not participating in practice Thursday, Aug. 21, and is not expected to play in the team's preseason game Saturday, Aug. 23.

Huddle Up: Dennis Pitta's value inches up with each day Daniels misses.

  • Posted: 6/8/2014 5:55pm ET

Baltimore Ravens TE Owen Daniels said he and TE Dennis Pitta will catch a lot of passes this upcoming season because of the scheme offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak has brought to the team. 'We will [catch a lot of balls]. That's just the way this offense is built,' Daniels said. 'I'm sure Dennis will be happy with it.'

Huddle Up: The numbers back that up as Houston TEs averaged a combined 105.7 receptions a season over the last 3 years while Baltimore TEs averaged 84.0 over the same span.

  • Posted: 5/30/2014 6:25pm ET

Baltimore Ravens TE Owen Daniels did not really stand out in practice Friday, May 30. Daniels did not get much separation from defensive players. Daniels is coming off a broken leg from last season.

Huddle Up: At this juncture Daniels is looking less like a guy Gary Kubiak brought in to be a factor at tight end and more like a veteran Kubiak brought in to show younger players like Dennis Pitta how Kubiak's system works.
