New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan said WR Brad Smith could be the team's No. 2 receiver. 'I don't know if he is the No. 3 guy because he might be the No. 2 guy. There is great competition at that spot,' Ryan said. Ryan said Smith is a tough, competitive player with great size and hands. 'He will be given every single chance to be that guy,' Ryan said.

The Huddle Take: The Jets offense will struggle in the passing game this year, but should have a few 'moments', and the number two guy will get a few of them. Will Smith ultimately be the guy? Too early to tell yet, but the fact is the team likes the gritty receivers like Smith, so a nice story could be developing here. He's worth tucking away as a possible bye week thought as it stands now, at the very least.
