The Baltimore Ravens have agreed to terms with free-agent DE Elvis Dumervil (Broncos). Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Huddle Up: Finally, a positive development for the defending Super Bowl champs who have seen key player after key player depart this offseason. Dumervil is one of the game's best pure pass rushers with 37.5 sacks over his past 3 full seasons.

The Baltimore Ravens have made a contract offer to free-agent DE Elvis Dumervil (Broncos). The Denver Broncos' offer to Dumervil is believed to have slightly more money in the early portion of the deal.

Huddle Up: Dumervil's new agent, Tom Condon, has been waiting for an offer to trump the Broncos', but no one seems to be rushing to hand the FA pass rusher bags of $$$. Dumervil's decision should come within the next day or two.

Free agent DE Elvis Dumervil has been underwhelmed by the Broncos last three-year contract offer, and will begin visiting teams in the next 48 hours. The Broncos are still trying to re-sign Dumervil, but are bringing in LB Dwight Freeney (Colts) and DE John Abraham (Falcons) in the event they cannot re-sign him.

Huddle Up: This situation has been a mess ever since Dumervil's agent failed to submit the paperwork on an agreed-upon reworked deal. Clearly Elvis isn't impressed by the Broncos' offer, and as they did release him he has the right to shop his talents. The Broncos appear to be comfortable lining up Plan B options if Elvis does leave the building.

While the Baltimore Ravens and Denver Broncos are considered the frontrunners for the services of free-agent DL Elvis Dumervil (Broncos), although the Houston Texans, New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers and San Diego Chargers have also shown some interest.

Huddle Up: The fax fiasco has thrown one of the league's top pure pass rushers -- 37.5 sacks over past 3 seasons -- onto the open market, and it could come down to who values those skills the most as Dumervil isn't considered a great all-around defender.

Free-agent DE Elvis Dumervil would like to re-sign with the Denver Broncos. Dumervil fired his agent in part to patch things up with the Broncos. The team was unhappy with the agent's handling of the restructured contract for Dumervil.

Huddle Up: Several teams have indicated they would be interested in Dumervil, but assuming there was an agreement in place and Dumervil's agent botched the paperwork then Elvis might be inclined to give Denver first crack at re-signing him. The change in agents suggests that's the direction Dumervil wants to go.

The Denver Broncos will take a $3.25 million hit in their salary cap after releasing LB Elvis Dumervil. Dumervil was released Friday, March 15, after his restructured deal wasn't filed to the league in time. Dumervil had agreed to restructure his contract from a $12 million base salary to an $8 million base for the 2013 season, but the paperwork was not received prior to the league deadline.

Huddle Up: Dumervil is now free to explore the open market. However, there hasn't been much money thrown at other defensive ends in free agency so his best bet may be to return to the Broncos. Also, someone really should have replaced the roll of paper in the fax machine.

Posted: 3/12/2013 12:02pm et

The Denver Broncos and the representation for DL Elvis Dumervil talked Monday, March 11, but they appear no closer to a resolution after Dumervil rejected a proposed salary cut. Dumervil has asked the team to release him before the free-agent market opens at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 12. 'We're at an impasse,' Dumervil's agent said. 'There's no animosity, whatsoever. Elvis understands this is a business. He loves the Broncos and he'd still like to come back and play for the Broncos under his current contract or restructure proposal that we sent them.'

Huddle Up: It looks as if the pass-rushing FA market is about to get a little deeper with the addition of Dumervil, who has at least 9.5 sacks in each of his past 3 full seasons.

Posted: 3/10/2013 11:28pm et

The Denver Broncos have not been in contact with Marty Magid, agent for DE Elvis Dumervil, since Magid sent the team a contract-restructuring proposal Friday, March 8.

Huddle Up: The sides reportedly have until March 16 to get a new deal in place. That's when the DE's $12 million salary will be guaranteed. If they are unable to come to an agreement, the productive Dumervil -- 37.5 sacks over his past 3 full seasons -- could be traded or waived, putting the Broncos in the market for another, cheaper DE/pass rusher.

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos RB Elvis Dumervil's (shoulder) MRI did not reveal any tears in the in the left shoulder he injured in Week 10. Dumervil is expected to questionable for Week 11, but the injury likely will not be season ending.

Huddle Up: Good news for the rapidly emerging Broncos defense, which leads the league in sacks with 31 in 9 games. Dumervil has been a big part of that with 7 so far.

Denver Broncos DE Elvis Dumervil (shoulder) left the Week 10 game against the Carolina Panthers due to a strained left shoulder. He will have an MRI Monday, Nov. 12. Dumervil said the injury felt like a strain, as 'nothing popped.' He said the injury was in the backside of the muscle area of the left shoulder.

Huddle Up: With another sack Sunday before leaving with the injury, Dumervll how has 7 on the season and is one of the leaders on an underrated Broncos defense. The team now will be awaiting Monday's MRI results with bated breath.

Denver Broncos DE Elvis Dumervil was cleared of a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon Tuesday, Aug. 7. Dumervil said he has not heard from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, who still has the ability to punish him without a charge or conviction in a case.

Huddle Up: Dumervil, or at least his lawyer, insisted he would be cleared, and that indeed turned out to be the case Tuesday. The seventh-year DE is a vital piece on a Broncos' stop unit that isn't blessed with an abundance of playmakers. The presence of Dumervil (9.5 sacks, 43 total tackles last year) keeps opposing offenses honest, not allowing them to shift protection schemes OLB Von Miller's way.

Denver Broncos DL Elvis Dumervil was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a firearm in Miami Saturday, July 14. The case is a third-degree felony. Dumervil was freed on $7,500 bail. "No charges have been filed," Dumervil's agent said Sunday, July 15. "No assault took place and it's likely once the full investigation is complete no charges will be filed against Elvis."

Huddle Up: We'll let this one play out in the legal system before worrying about if or to what degree the league will get involved.
