The Carolina Panthers signed WR Domenik Hixon Wednesday, April 3. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Huddle Up: The former Giant will compete with Brandon LaFell and Ted Ginn for a wingman role opposite Steve Smith, with limited fantasy upside as the reward.

The Carolina Panthers are scheduled to meet with free-agent WR Domenik Hixon (Giants) Monday, April 1.

Huddle Up: Hixon, coming off a 39-567-2 season with the Giants, already has visited the Raiders and the Browns reportedly have some interest as well.

Free-agent WR Domenik Hixon (Giants) visited with the Oakland Raiders on Wednesday, March 27.

Huddle Up: Hixon is coming off a 39-catch, 567-yard season with the Giants and could be a decent fit with the Raiders, who just released Darrius Heyward-Bey.

The Carolina Panthers might show an interest in free-agent WR Domenik Hixon (Giants), a player general manager David Gettleman is familiar with from his time with the New York Giants. If signed, he could push WR Brandon LaFell for the No. 2 receiver job.

Huddle Up: Hixon has only 58 catches over the past 3 seasons in New York, where he was continually buried on the Giants' deep WR depth chart. He would find the opportunities much more bountiful in Carolina where the aging Steve Smith is the Panthers' only viable wideout.

New York Giants WR Domenik Hixon (ankle) will practice Thursday, Nov. 29.

Huddle Up: Between his ailing ankle, the return of Hakeem Nicks and the emergence of rookie Rueben Randle, Hixon barely has registered on the stat sheet of late, registering only 1 catch for 8 yards over the Giants' past 3 games. Don't plan on having him anywhere near your starting lineup until some opportunities start to open up again.

New York Giants WR Domenik Hixon left in the first quarter of Sunday's Week 10 game because of an ankle injury and did not return.

Huddle Up: Hixon got his ankle re-taped, but it still wasn't good enough for the WR to get back into the game, and he finished with 1 catch for 8 yards. Hixon was replaced by rookie Rueben Randle, but he only finished with 2 catches for 4 yards as the Giants' passing game continued to struggle in a 31-13 loss.

New York Giants WRs Domenik Hixon (concussion) and Hakeem Nicks (foot) were riding stationary bikes in practice Monday, Sept. 24.

Huddle Up: Hixon has been sidelined with a concussion, while Nicks is battling lingering issues from the broken foot he suffered in the offseason. Ramses Barden stepped into the Giants' receiver void last week and would be in line to do so again if Nicks and Hixon can't go in Week 4. No word as to which cyclist won the Giants' Tour de Practice.

New York Giants offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride said WR Domenik Hixon is the team's No. 3 wide receiver entering the season.

Huddle Up: Hixon could see some Week 1 targets with the uncertainty at TE and WR Hakeem Nicks still not at 100 percent a little more than 3 months after fracturing his foot. 2011 breakout star Victor Cruz, rookie Rueben Randle and holdovers Jerrel Jernigan and Ramses Barden round out the Giants' 6-man WR contingent.

Posted: 8/24/2012 8:19pm et

New York Giants WRs Jerrel Jernigan, Rueben Randle, Domenik Hixon and Ramses Barden are still in the mix for the No. 3 wide receiver job.

Huddle Up: Many observers felt Randle, the team's second-round pick out of LSU, would have seized the position by now, but quite a tussle has developed. Whoever wins the job, though, will have very limited fantasy value as long as starters Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz are healthy.

Posted: 7/2/2012 7:19pm et

New York Giants WR Domenik Hixon may enter training camp as the favorite for the No. 3 wide receiver job over WRs Rueben Randle, Ramses Barden and Jerrel Jernigan.

Huddle Up: Hixon has the edge in experience, but he'll need to demonstrate he's healthy to have fantasy relevance. The Giants were able to make three receivers fantasy-worthy last year and could certainly do so again, but you have to believe if Randle shows any of the ability that made him a second-round choice he'll be in the plans sooner rather than later.

Posted: 5/30/2012 9:06pm et

New York Giants WR Domenik Hixon worked with the first-team offense during organized team activities Wednesday, May 30, in place of injured WR Hakeem Nicks (foot).

Huddle Up: Hixon has the most experience after Nicks and Cruz, so he's the logical choice to run first-team reps and keep practices going smoothly. However, Ramses Barden, Jerrel Jernigan and second-round pick Rueben Randle (LSU) will all get their shot to impress the coaches too.
