Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins said he will be ready to start Week 1 if QB Robert Griffin III (knee) is not ready to come back from his knee injury. 'What I do know is I need to be ready, and I will be,' Cousins said. 'And I will benefit greatly from the reps I get throughout (off-season workouts) as well as training camp and preseason games this coming August. I do believe he's gonna heal very quickly. I don't want to put any pressure on him to heal as fast as an [Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson], did but it wouldn't surprise me.'

Huddle Up: Even after only 1 season, Cousins is regarded as one of the league's better backups, and that was in evidence when he threw for 329 yards and 2 TDs during his only start this past season.

The Buffalo Bills may try to acquire Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins this offseason if the scouting staff believes that Cousins is significantly better than any of the quarterback prospects in the 2013 NFL Draft. The Redskins have indicated they would be open to listening to offers for Cousins.

Huddle Up: This is a move that would make sense for the Bills and a number of other teams who need a QB upgrade. The Skins, meanwhile, should be more than willing to swing a deal and cash in on Cousins' high value with RGIII already entrenched as the starter for years to come.

Starting in place of the injured Robert Griffin III (knee), Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins went 26-for-37 for 329 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Week 15 against the Cleveland Browns.

Huddle Up: With the second-overall pick out, the fourth-rounder did more than fine, guiding the Skins to a win over the previously-hot Browns. Cousins got all of his WRs involved with Pierre Garcon (6-65), Josh Morgan (4-60), Leonard Hankerson (2-56, 2 TDs) & Santana Moss (5-57) all having solid days.
