NewOrleansSaints.com reports New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (knee) is taking part in training camp. The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports Colston went through full work Friday, July 31, and showed no effects of having microfracture surgery. According to Colston, he is as healthy as he has been in quite some time.
The Huddle Take: Good to hear for fantasy owners. Even with the injury history, Colston is still considered one of the top fantasy receivers, giving him a lot to live up to. This health report is a move in the right direction. New Orleans looks to put up a ton of points this season, and he'll be a big part of those points.

Jeff Duncan, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston was limited during practice Saturday, June 6.
The Huddle Take: Colston was slowed by injuries last year and had the dreaded microfracture surgery in the offseason, though that procedure is no longer the career-ender it once was. Colston ran some routes with Drew Brees, and all signs point towards him being ready for the start of the season.

Mike Triplett, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports the procedure New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston had on his knee in January was a microfracture procedure to repair a small hole in his kneecap. He has been running on the practice field and should be at full speed during training camp.
The Huddle Take: Microfracture isn't nearly the scary procedure it used to be, but it will still be comforting to see Colston back on the field this August before spending a high pick on him.

NewOrleansSaints.com, reports New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (knee) did not participate in the team's workout Thursday, May 21. Head coach Sean Payton said he expects Colston to participate in some of the team's June minicamp.
The Huddle Take: Colston has been battling knee problems for much of the 2008 season and appears to be slowly easing back into organized team activities. The Saints star wideout should once again be considered a top receiving option for fantasy teams regardless of the scoring format in 2009.

The New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton said he expects WR Marques Colston (knee) will be limited during the early portion of the team's offseason conditioning program that starts Monday, March 30.
The Huddle Take: Colston, who battled a knee injury for much of 2008, will likely ease back into action slowly in 2009 while apparently seeing limited action in the preseason as a precaution. With the Saints possessing a high octane offense, Colston will be a top receiving threat once again for the upcoming season barring any setbacks to his knee.

NFL.com reports New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton said WR Marques Colston is doing well in his rehab from knee surgery.
The Huddle Take: No worries here as Colston looks to bounce back from an injury-marred campaign and return to the elite level he established in his first two season in the NFL.

The Associated Press reports New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston caught nine passes for 99 yards with two touchdowns during the team's Week 16 game.
The Huddle Take: Colston has re-established himself as the go-to-receiver in the New Orleans passing attack after missing much of the regular season with injuries. Fantasy owners should now consider Colston as a solid No. 1 wideout worth considering for a start in Week 17.

The Associated Press reports New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston had six receptions for 106 yards during the team's Week 13 game.
The Huddle Take: Colston has not been the same player as last year for much of the season due to injuries but he does appear to be coming around as the Saints throw the ball more and more each week. Colston should be viewed as a solid No. 2 receiver at the present time and capable of posting numbers as a No. 1 on any given week.

The Biloxi Sun-Herald reports the New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston was not the target of many passes during Week 12 by design, as head coach Sean Payton said the Green Bay Packers left the middle of the field open so QB Drew Brees looked at other options. Colston, as noted, came up with just one catch - a 70-yard touchdown reception - during the team's win.
The Huddle Take: Yeah, ok, whatever. By design or not, it was fortunate for fantasy owners that he had that 70 yard scoring bomb. With designs like that for the stud receivers, who needs duds? Look for this to be an exception not the rule, but it should be eyed with a level of concern.
