The Santa Clara County district attorney has decided not to pursue charges against San Francisco 49ers LB Ahmad Brooks in the alleged assault of DT Lamar Divens. New evidence that includes an account of a rough-housing incident between the two as well as demands for $1 million from Divens helped to convince the DA that he would have difficulty getting a conviction. It's not clear whether the league will examine Brooks' case and seek to hand out its own discipline. The 49ers released a statement that said, '... we look forward to moving on from this situation and will have no further comment.'
Huddle Up: Brooks has run afoul of the law and the NFL conduct code before, but with no charges, this latest incident doesn't appear to warrant any discipline from the league.

San Francisco 49ers LB Ahmad Brooks has been playing with a
dislocated finger that he suffered during training camp and also a
nagging left-shoulder injury. He still is expected to start in the
Huddle Up: Brooks hasn't been particularly productive during the postseason,
registering 2 tackles, 2 passes defensed and 2 QB hits in 2 games,
and the Niners could use more out of him next Sunday against a
Ravens' offense that has been surprisingly productive.
