Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz is expected to see a sizable jump in snaps this season.

Huddle Up: Ertz saw his 2013 numbers (57 targets-36 receptions-469 yards-4 TDs) increase almost across the board last season (89-58-702-3) and don't be shocked to see a similar leap in Year Three.

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz has spent the offseason traveling around the country to improve as a blocker and a receiver, head coach Chip Kelly said Thursday, June 18, and RB Darren Sproles said Ertz is 'about to be a superstar.'

Huddle Up: Plenty of reasons to like Ertz's fantasy prospects this year, and if he has Chip on board that bodes well for his opportunity.

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz has developed chemistry with QB Sam Bradford this offseason. The Bradford to Ertz connection has supposedly been commonplace at organized team activities. Ertz is excited for what Bradford can bring to the offense. 'I think we will get back to some of the deep plays,' Ertz said. 'I'll do anything I can to get open.' Ertz added that Bradford has a strong, accurate arm and can put the ball up high where Ertz is able to go up and catch it.

Huddle Up: Developing a bond with your quarterback is always a good thing as receivers look to get a larger slice of the passing game pie. Now Ertz has to hope the quarterback he's building rapport with is able to stay on the field for 16 games.

  • Posted: 6/3/2015 3:13pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz was overthrown 18.0% of the time when he has targeted by the quarterback in 2014, which was the second highest number among tight ends.

Huddle Up: Philly now has Sam Bradford at the helm, so maybe those overthrows will stop and allow Ertz to live up to his considerable potential as one of the top fantasy tight ends.

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz ranked ninth among tight ends in 2014 with 293 receiving yards out of the slot, but's Sheil Kapadia believes Ertz could see more time in the slot next year if WR Jordan Matthews spends more time outside.

Huddle Up: Although he caught one fewer TD pass (4-3), Ertz saw solid increases in his reception (36-58) and receiving-yard (469-702) totals this past season, and there's no reason to believe his numbers won't continue to climb in 2015, putting him in low-end TE1 territory.

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz (oblique) fully participated in practice and is probable for Week 13.

Huddle Up: Ertz hasn't missed a game this season and should be out there Thursday in Dallas, but his biggest fantasy threat is the increased looks fellow TE Brent Celek has been getting in recent weeks. Go ahead and roll with Ertz if you need to but weigh your TE options carefully.

  • Posted: 11/11/2014 6:18pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz continued to see his role shrink in Week 10 versus the Carolina Panthers Monday, Nov. 10, as head coach Chip Kelly seems more comfortable with TE Brent Celek because of his blocking skills. Ertz must work on his blocking moving forward.

Huddle Up: Ertz only has five targets, two receptions and 21 yards over the last two games and shouldn't be started until he shows some signs of fantasy life.

  • Posted: 11/3/2014 10:26am ET

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz played just 24 snaps in Week 9 Sunday, Nov. 2, because the team used a lot of three-receiver sets. TE Brent Celek played 64 snaps to block.

Huddle Up: It was a tough matchup for Ertz to begin with; being on the field for such a limited number of snaps made it even more difficult for Ertz to carve out fantasy value. And replacing Nick Foles with Mark Sanchez capped off Ertz's trifecta of futility. Going forward, Philly's QB change and Ertz's fluctuating role throw his fantasy value into question.

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz is expected to be more involved in the passing game this season and has shown the confidence to be a solid pass catcher, according to tight ends coach Ted Williams. 'He's one of the best route-runners I've ever seen. He takes a lot of pride in that. He has a lot of confidence. He's hard to defeat, because he doesn't take defeat very well. He feels, 'You can't cover me,'' Williams said. Williams said the team can throw when they are in a two-tight end set and that Ertz can line up at tight end, in the slot or as an outside receiver.

Huddle Up: Ertz came on down the stretch last season as a rookie and currently is the 11th TE being selected, on average, in fantasy drafts. He's definitely a TE to target if you're one of the last GMs to address the position in a 10- or 12-team league.

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz had a pair of grabs for 26 yards and a touchdown in the preseason game against the New England Patriots Friday, Aug. 15.

Huddle Up: Ertz worked exclusively with the first string offense in his second game of pre-season action. Through two exhibition games, Ertz has six grabs for 86 yards and a TD on seven targets. It's looking like the second year TE has a good shot at being a red-zone target. His current low ADP make him a great value pick in your drafts.

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz is athletic, fast and a good route-runner, according to New England Patriots DE Chandler Jones. Ertz was said to be a handful after two joint practices with the Patriots this week.

Huddle Up: The sleeper buzz has been out on Ertz for a while now, and the TE is creeping up the ADP ranks, now sitting just outside the top 10 at No. 11. If you're one of the last to draft a TE in a 10- or 12-team league, Ertz should definitely be among your leading considerations.

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz said he's feeling more confident this year than he did in his rookie season. Ertz added he'll be looking to attack more this season instead of still trying to figure things out.

Huddle Up: The second-year TE came on late last season, recording 25 of his 36 catches and all 3 of his TD grabs over the final 8 games. He's currently ranked as a borderline TE1, sitting 12th in The Huddle rankings.
