Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) was participating during the media-access portion of practice Thursday, Dec. 8.

Huddle Up: Riddick should be able to play in Week 14, but owners will need to monitor the situation to see if he suffers any setbacks. Riddick has not posted great numbers over the last few weeks but should still have a solid role in the offense. He can be a No. 2 running back in most fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 12/7/2016 2:02pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 7.

Huddle Up: It seems unlikely that Riddick would sit this week after being able to play last week while not at 100%. If the shifty running back is unexpectedly sidelined, however, then Dwayne Washington would make for a sleeper option in deeper standard leagues.

  • Posted: 12/4/2016 9:14am ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) is officially active for the team's Week 13 game.

Huddle Up: Riddick should receive most of the work at running back against the New Orleans Saints and should also be involved in the passing game. He should be a solid No. 2 running back in all fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 12/4/2016 7:01am ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) is expected to play in Week 13's game against the New Orleans Saints.

Huddle Up: Riddick was limited in practice throughout the week and was listed as questionable on the injury report. He has been an integral part of Detroit's running and passing game and should continue to be viewed as a solid RB2 option, especially in PPR formats.

  • Posted: 12/2/2016 4:26pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 2, and is listed as questionable for Week 13.

Huddle Up: Riddick should be able to play this week, but owners will need to check the inactive list to make sure. He has been a factor in the running and passing game and can be a No. 2 running back or a flex option in most leagues.

  • Posted: 12/1/2016 2:26pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) was limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 1.

Huddle Up: There are no indications that Riddick will be missing this game, as long as he doesn't have any setbacks between now and kickoff. He's one of the more underrated running backs this week as he should be heavily involved in the passing game in what could be a shootout with the New Orleans Saints. He has high-end RB2 upside in PPR leagues.

  • Posted: 11/30/2016 1:23pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) was limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 30.

Huddle Up: Riddick had an off week last week, but he's primed for a rebound performance in a great matchup versus the New Orleans Saints. He should continue to split time in the running game, but his value in the passing game makes him an RB2 option in PPR formats.

  • Posted: 11/24/2016 1:21pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick only managed 58 yards from scrimmage Thursday, Nov. 24.

Huddle Up: Riddick and the rest of the offense were definitely in one of their tougher matchups of the year against the Minnesota Vikings. He'll continue to lead the Lions in touches out of the backfield as long as he's healthy, though. Don't be terribly discouraged by this outing.

  • Posted: 11/23/2016 1:46pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) was limited during practice Wednesday, Nov. 23, and is listed as questionable for Week 12.

Huddle Up: Riddick should be able to play this week and probably will see the majority of snaps at running back. His ability to produce in the running and passing game is why he should be considered a No. 2 running back in most fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 11/22/2016 1:30pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) was limited in practice Tuesday, Nov. 22.

Huddle Up: Riddick was hampered last week, too, but he still turned in a nice day in the passing game. That could be the case again this week if he is active. Look for his practice status tomorrow. If he's still limited then he'll be considered questionable.

  • Posted: 11/21/2016 3:13pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) was limited during practice Monday, Nov. 21. The Lions did not practice Monday, so this is an estimation.

Huddle Up: Riddick did most of his damage in the passing game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 11 where he had 70 yards receiving. Riddick will continue to be the team's No. 1 running back and should be considered a solid No. 2 running back in most fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 11/20/2016 5:52pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (finger) said Sunday, Nov. 20, that he caught his hand in a helmet in the Week 11 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He said it shouldn't affect his ability to carry the ball going forward.

Huddle Up: Riddick rushed for 13 yards, but hauled in eight receptions for 70 yards on a game-high 10 targets. He is a must-start fantasy option in PPR formats heading into the Thanksgiving game against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 12.

  • Posted: 11/20/2016 7:38am ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) will play in Week 11's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Huddle Up: Riddick had been limited in practice throughout the week and was listed as questionable on the injury report. He should be viewed as a RB2 in standard fantasy leagues, with added value in PPR formats.

  • Posted: 11/18/2016 3:52pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 18, and is listed as questionable for Week 11.

Huddle Up: Riddick probably will be able to play against the Jacksonville Jaguars and will be involved in the running and passing game. He should be considered a No. 2 running back in fantasy leagues and will be more valuable in point-per-reception leagues.

  • Posted: 11/17/2016 2:59pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) was limited in practice for a second straight day Thursday, Nov. 17.

Huddle Up: Riddick should be able to play as long as he doesn't suffer any setbacks. He's an RB2 in standard leagues and his receiving prowess gives him more value in PPR formats.

  • Posted: 11/16/2016 3:50pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) was limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 16.

Huddle Up: While the Jacksonville Jaguars have been pretty good against the run this year, Riddick is versatile enough to cause problems for any defense. If he doesn't suffer any setbacks this week then he's an RB2 with more value in PPR formats.

  • Posted: 11/6/2016 8:49am ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) is active for Week 9's game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Huddle Up: Riddick was a limited participant in practice throughout the week and was listed as questionable on the injury report. He should be viewed as a decent RB2 in PPR fantasy leagues despite the challenging matchup versus Minnesota.

  • Posted: 11/4/2016 3:48pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 4, and is listed as questionable for Week 9.

Huddle Up: Riddick likely will be able to play this week and should receive a majority of the work at running back. He will be involved in the running and passing game and should be considered a No. 2 running back in most fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 11/3/2016 7:08pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) was listed as a limited participant in practice Thursday, Nov. 3.

Huddle Up: Riddick appears to be in the same boat as last week, as he was limited mid-week but able to play and flourish. He is a tremendous RB2 option in all PPR fantasy formats despite the fact he is facing a tough defense.

  • Posted: 11/2/2016 2:40pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) had a limited practice Wednesday, Nov. 2.

Huddle Up: Riddick was limited mid-week last week as well and still turned in a stellar performance. He and the Lions face a tougher test in the Minnesota Vikings this week, but the Vikings did just give up over 150 rushing yards and a touchdown to Jordan Howard on Monday night. Riddick remains a solid RB2 option in PPR leagues.

  • Posted: 10/28/2016 3:45pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday,, Oct. 28, and is not on the injury report for Week 8.

Huddle Up: Riddick likely will take over the starting running back job and should see plenty of touches during the game. He can be a solid No. 2 running back in most leagues and will be more valuable in point-per-reception leagues.

  • Posted: 10/27/2016 4:49pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) was a full participant at practice Thursday, Oct. 27.

Huddle Up: After getting in a limited session on Wednesday, it looks like Riddick will be on his way back from a two-game absence. Prior to landing on the sidelines, the 25-year-old tailback was the biggest piece of Detroit's running game, and he should resume his busy role against the Texans. His return might also hinder Golden Tate, who has stepped up big time the past two weeks in Riddick's absence. Zach Zenner and Justin Forsett also head back to the end of the line if Dwayne Washington suits up as well.

  • Posted: 10/27/2016 12:45pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) is expected to play against the Houston Texans in Week 8.

Huddle Up: Riddick has missed the last two games because of the injury but probably will regain his starting job in Week 8. He can be a No. 2 running back or a flex option if he is active.

  • Posted: 10/26/2016 3:40pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 26.

Huddle Up: Pay close attention to Riddick's progress this week since he's missed the last two games with the ankle ailment. He should be started as an RB2 in PPR leagues if he is active. He may not run as much if he does play with Dwayne Washington likely back.

  • Posted: 10/21/2016 6:55pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) did not practice Friday, Oct. 21, and he has been ruled out for Week 7.

Huddle Up: With Riddick out and Dwayne Washington questionable, Zach Zenner could be worth a flier in DFS formats if he ends up starting in Week 7.

  • Posted: 10/21/2016 11:19am ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) missed practice for the third straight day Friday, Oct. 21.

Huddle Up: It's not looking good for Riddick, who is trending toward missing his second straight game. Zach Zenner, Dwayne Washington, and Justin Forsett will likely share backfield touches this week against the Washington Redskins, with game script likely to determine which one will be the best play in fantasy. Golden Tate enjoyed his best game of the season by far last week with Riddick and Eric Ebron out, and a similar scenario could play out again this week.

  • Posted: 10/20/2016 3:15pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 20.

Huddle Up: Riddick hasn't practiced yet this week and could be in danger of missing his second consecutive contest. If he has to sit out again, the Lions would likely go to a three-man committee of Justin Forsett, Zach Zenner and Dwayne Washington, making it very difficult to trust either of those options this weekend in any fantasy league.

  • Posted: 10/19/2016 5:00pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 19.

Huddle Up: Riddick was not able to play in Week 6 and likely will have to practice this week if he wants a chance to play in Week 7. Owners probably should consider other options for their lineups and not hope that Riddick plays.

  • Posted: 10/14/2016 1:09pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams.

Huddle Up: With Dwayne Washington questionable due to foot and ankle sprains, newly signed Justin Forsett may have a bigger-than-expected role less than a week after joining the Lions. Forsett fits Riddick's role in this offense much better than Zach Zenner, so five to eight carries and three to five catches for the former Baltimore Raven should not be ruled out. That alone would put Forsett on the flex radar.

  • Posted: 10/14/2016 8:34am ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) is out of practice Friday, Oct. 14.

Huddle Up: This certainly sheds doubt on his status for Week 6, but he could still suit up against the Los Angeles Rams. He'd have a decent matchup if he's able to play and isn't limited. Check his status before kickoff for a possible flex play.

  • Posted: 10/13/2016 9:55am ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 13.

Huddle Up: Riddick could be a game-time decision this week, so owners will need to keep an eye on the situation. He should be a starting option if he is active, but owners will need other options available if he misses the game. Justin Forsett could receive solid playing time in Week 6 if Riddick is not able to play and could be a flex option.

  • Posted: 10/12/2016 5:26pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 12.

Huddle Up: It is not known if Riddick is in any danger of missing the team's Week 6 game, so owners should monitor the situation. Riddick could lose some carries to Justin Forsett but should still be a No. 2 running back in some standard leagues and most point-per-reception leagues.

  • Posted: 10/9/2016 5:29pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick ran 11 times for a game-high 49 yards in the Week 5 game against the Philadelphia Eagles, and he also had six receptions for 33 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He was targeted six times.

Huddle Up: Riddick is a tremendous fantasy option as the top back in the Motor City, especially in formats which reward points per reception (PPR). The Lions host the Rams in Week 6, a rush defense shredded by LeSean McCoy and the Bills in Week 5.

  • Posted: 9/27/2016 6:27am ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick will enter a timeshare with RB Dwayne Washington, according to head coach Jim Caldwell.

Huddle Up: Riddick had just nine yards on 10 carries last week, but he's a capable receiver out of the backfield. He'll be a flex consideration against the Chicago Bears this week.

  • Posted: 9/26/2016 5:28am ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick played in 45 of the 68 offensive snaps in Week 3. RB Dwayne Washington played in 25 snaps.

Huddle Up: Riddick had 10 rushes for just nine yards but caught seven balls for 39. Washington rushed 10 times for 38 yards, and he could start to see a bigger role. Riddick is an RB3, and Washington is a flex option against the Chicago Bears next week.

  • Posted: 9/21/2016 6:18am ET

Updating an earlier report, Detroit Lions RB Ameer Abdullah (foot) is out for the season, and RB Theo Riddick will get the first crack as the team's top back. RB Dwayne Washington and RB Zach Zenner will back him up.

Huddle Up: Riddick has been productive as a receiver, but he hasn't really proven to be a consistent runner. Washington has the tools to do both and is the dark horse here. Riddick is likely already owned, and he's a low-end RB2 for now. Washington has flex appeal against the Green Bay Packers in Week 3.

  • Posted: 9/18/2016 2:03pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick ran 11 times for 37 yards and caught passes for 28 yards in Week 2 against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, Sept. 18. RB Ameer Abdullah (foot) left early, but Riddick wasn't able to capitalize on the extra work.

Huddle Up: Riddick is primarily a PPR weapon for fantasy owners. Any increased workload in the running game is gravy. Watch Abdullah's status for Week 3, but Riddick is a midrange flex play either way against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.

  • Posted: 9/17/2016 5:42pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick played 24 snaps and had seven carries for 45 yards in Week 1 against the Indianapolis Colts, and offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter said Riddick has spent a lot of time with running backs coach David Walker to improve his vision and ability to read blocks.

Huddle Up: Riddick is one of the best pass-catching backs in the NFL, and if he continues to see a handful of carries, he will be a legit RB2 in PPR formats. For now, consider him a solid flex play in PPR leagues and must-have handcuff to Ameer Abdullah in standard leagues.

  • Posted: 9/11/2016 4:35pm ET

Updating a previous report, Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (head) was able to return to the Week 1 game against the Indianapolis Colts in the fourth quarter after apparently passing his concussion evaluation.

Huddle Up: Riddick left the game after having his bell rung, but apparently satisfied all of the league's mandated concussion requirements. That's good news for fantasy owners in fantasy leagues, especially PPR formats.

  • Posted: 9/11/2016 4:11pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (head) left the Week 1 game against the Indianapolis Colts due to a head injury. He is being evaluated for a concussion.

Huddle Up: Before Riddick left he posted a rushing touchdown while also grabbing three receptions. When healthy he is a valuable RB3 in fantasy formats which reward points per reception (PPR). If he is forced to miss time it's good news for Ameer Abdullah, who figures to see even more touches.

  • Posted: 9/9/2016 9:04am ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick agreed to a three-year contract extension worth $12.5 million Friday, Sept. 9, according to sources.

Huddle Up: Riddick was a solid PPR option last season with 80 receptions and 830 yards from scrimmage. However, there could be a slight decline in his volume with Ameer Abdullah potentially taking a step forward in his second season. Riddick is also nothing more than a depth piece in standard leagues because he isn't a touchdown threat on the ground with one career rushing score through his first three seasons.

  • Posted: 8/19/2016 2:19pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick received all of the snaps with the first-team offense during the preseason game Thursday, Aug. 18, in part because RB Ameer Abdullah (shoulder) did not play.

Huddle Up: Riddick will have a solid role on offense even when Abdullah will be able to play again. He should be a valuable option for owners in point-per-reception leagues since he caught 80 passes last season. He could be a weekly flex option in PPR leagues and a No. 3 or No. 4 running back in standard leagues.

  • Posted: 6/10/2016 11:33am ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick could have a bigger role running the ball in 2016, according to offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter.

Huddle Up: With 46 more receptions (118) than rushing attempts (72) in three seasons, Riddick certainly has been classified in the Shane Vereen category of pass-catching backs, but he certainly looks to be line for more carries with only second-year Ameer Abdullah currently ahead of him on the Motor City RB depth chart.

  • Posted: 1/4/2016 8:47am ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick posted two receptions in the Week 17 game against the Chicago Bears to set a club record for catches by a running back (78) in a single season.

Huddle Up: Riddick was a valuable PPR contributor as Detroit's pass-catching back, worth keeping an eye on as things shake out in Detroit this offseason.
