Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick is listed as the starting running back on the team's first depth chart since RB Joique Bell (Achilles', knee) is on the Physically Unable to Perform list. RB Ameer Abdullah is listed as the No. 2 running back on the depth chart.

Huddle Up: By the time the games that count arrive, all three (Riddick, Bell and Abdullah) should be ready to go, giving the Motown RB situation the early look of a fantasy quagmire. Definitely a situation to keep tabs on this preseason to see if any one of the trio separates himself -- either moving ahead or falling behind.

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick is expected to have a similar role in 2015 than he did last season but could see more time in the slot.

Huddle Up: All three of the Lions' top backs -- Joique Bell, Ameer Abdullah and Riddick -- are solid to strong receivers, but Riddick is more of a pure pass-catcher than RB in the Shane Vereen mold with 38 career receptions to only 29 carries. His best value comes late in PPR leagues.

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick will have his role expanded in 2015. The team may opt to draft a running back in the NFL Draft, so how much his role will expand has yet to be determined.

Huddle Up: The opportunity is certainly there for Riddick with the Lions and Reggie Bush parting ways, but look for the team to draft or sign another back with Riddick and George Winn currently the only backups to projected starter Joique Bell.

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick likely will be given the chance to earn a bigger role in the offense next season after the team released RB Reggie Bush.

Huddle Up: Riddick, a sixth-round pick in 2013, scored four TDs and gained 367 yards on his 70 touches a year ago and could slide into the No. 2 RB role in back of Joique Bell, but it also wouldn't be surprising to see the Lions add another back in free agency or the draft in the coming months.
