Alex Marvez, of FOXSports.com, reports Minnesota Vikings FB Naufahu Tahi suffered an eye injury while wrestling with RB Adrian Peterson in the team's locker room Saturday, Oct. 31, according to a source. The horseplay led to Tahi missing the team's Week 8 game. Vikings coaches believed Tahi was going to play Saturday, Oct. 31, but had to declare him inactive for the game after overnight swelling.
The Huddle Take: That Tahi missed the game might have actually played to the Vikings' benefit, as fill-in Jeff Dugans caught a touchdown pass. But think about the ramifications had it been AP and not Tahi injured during the ruckus. Also, Minnesota's failure to disclose information about the injury flies in the face of the league's open information policy. Expect a slap on the wrist from the league and a moratorium on locker room hi-jinks.

Updating a previous report, the Minnesota Vikings have announced they have matched the offer sheet restricted free-agent FB Naufahu Tahi signed from the Cincinnati Bengals. Terms of the contract were not disclosed, but an earlier report stated it is a one-year, $1.4 million contract.
The Huddle Take: Whew! For a while there it looked like Adrian Peterson would have to add those extra pounds to serve as his own fullback. Now with Tahi back in the fold everything's hunky-dorey in Minnesota. Except for the quarterback situation. And 60 percent of the offensive line.

Tim Yotter, of Scout.com, reports the Cincinnati Bengals have signed restricted free-agent FB Naufahu Tahi to a one-year, $1.4 million offer sheet.
The Huddle Take: The Vikings now have a week to match the offer. And seeing as they have expressed mostly apathy with both Tahi and free agent fullbacks like Leonard Weaver, maybe they have another plan in mind.
