Tennessee Titans WR Justin Hunter's trial for misdemeanor charges in a July bar brawl has been set back to Sept. 15 in order for defense attorneys to come up with a key witness. Hunter is expected to play Thursday, Sept. 3, against the Minnesota Vikings.

Huddle Up: Only having just turned 24 this spring, Hunter still has some upside, but he should only be a deep bench consideration in the majority of leagues this season. And that's without factoring in the possibility of league discipline over the off-field incident.

Tennessee Titans WR Justin Hunter is 'trending up' in practice, head coach Ken Whisenhunt said Monday, Aug. 17. The head coach wants Hunter to carry over the solid play into games.

Huddle Up: With what they believe is a franchise quarterback on board, the Titans are looking for some of their talented young receivers to step up as well. Hunter is running out of opportunities, especially if Dorial Green-Beckham lives up to the hype.

Tennessee Titans WR Hakeem Nicks has developed a rapport with QB Marcus Mariota early on in training camp, and could end up ahead of WRs Harry Douglas, Justin Hunter and Dorial Green-Beckham on the depth chart.

Huddle Up: QB/WR chemistry is big in determining fantasy success and although Nicks has struggled recently, he's entering a new situation with the Titans. Mariota is a rookie quarterback who doesn't have a go-to receiver. This is something to monitor during the preseason. It's possible Nicks could become Mariota's go-to guy.

Tennessee Titans WR Justin Hunter will practice Friday, July 31, just days after being released from jail for an assault charge.

Huddle Up: Hunter will be around for the time being, but don't be surprised if he finds himself on the NFL's suspended list this season.

Tennessee Titans WR Justin Hunter was released from jail on a $25,000 bond Tuesday, July 21. Hunter had been arrested and charged with malicious wounding in an incident which occurred July 3 in Virginia Beach. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 3.

Huddle Up: The talented 2013 second-round pick was a trendy sleeper pick a year ago, but his injury-shortened, 12-game season only netted 28 receptions for 498 yards and three scores. Now, after back from a ruptured spleen, the wideout could open his third season on the Commissioner's Exempt List or be put on waivers, depending on what further investigations reveal. In the meantime, the Titans aren't just going to wait around with training camp opening soon as they'll be moving ahead with second-round rookie Dorial Green-Beckham.

Tennessee Titans WR Justin Hunter may have his last opportunity to prove he belongs in the NFL, or at least with the Titans, in 2015. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt recently said, 'At some point, you either get it or you won't be in this league anymore,' in regards to Hunter's play the last couple of seasons.

Huddle Up: Thus far it's been more "not getting it" than "getting it" for Hunter. And with the Titans heavily invested in Marcus Mariota and Dorial Green-Beckham it won't be difficult to move on from Hunter if that trend continues.

Tennessee Titans WR Justin Hunter is expected to compete with WR Dorial Green-Beckham for one of the starting receiver jobs during training camp. Hunter said he has been working on adding some weight this offseason. Hunter finished this past season at 196 pounds but is currently 206 pounds and wants to be at 210 pounds by the start of training camp.

Huddle Up: The anticipated breakout never came for Hunter last season as he logged 28 catches for 498 yards and three TDs in 12 games before rupturing his spleen, and he'll definitely have to step up his game with the team adding not only Green-Beckham in the second round but signing free agents Harry Douglas and Hakeem Nicks and drafting Tre McBride in the seventh round.

Tennessee Titans WR Justin Hunter was placed on Reserve/Injured Tuesday, Dec. 2. Hunter ruptured his spleen in Week 13.

Huddle Up: Tough break for the second-year WR, but in the meantime, it'll mean more targets for Kendall Wright and Nate Washington the rest of the season.

Tennessee Titans WR Justin Hunter (spleen) is expected to be fine after suffering a ruptured spleen in Week 13, according to a source.

Huddle Up: It's good news for Hunter that he wasn't seriously injured but he's no longer on the fantasy radar. Hunter doesn't need be owned in any format.

Updating a previous report, Tennessee Titans WR Justin Hunter (spleen) suffered a lacerated spleen in the Week 13 game against the Houston Texans. He will not travel with the team, remaining in a Houston hospital overnight.

Huddle Up: Nate Washington and Kendall Wright will play more snaps now with Hunter out. Wright is the better fantasy start but neither receiver is a great option with Jake Locker likely the quarterback for Tennessee next week.

  • Posted: 10/8/2014 1:55pm ET

Tennessee Titans WR Justin Hunter has locked down a starting spot on the outside with the team. He has big upside due to his size and speed, but he's not a consistent performer on tape, according to personnel executives.

Huddle Up: Hunter had 3 catches for 99 yards and his first TD catch of the season on Sunday, but he still was only targeted 5 times. Hunter remains an intriguing fantasy option because of his athleticism and upside but he's not a high-volume wideout and is likely going to need a TD catch in just about every start to be useful in the majority of fantasy leagues.
