ESPN.com reports Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe's four-game suspension has to do with his use of diuretics, and was trying to lose weight back in training camp, according to a source. Bowe will not be appealing the suspension.

The Huddle Take: Well now we know why he was suspended, although it obviously doesn't change anything. Since this one basically came out of the blue, it makes us wonder what other surprises may be lurking that will affect Fantasy rosters as leagues near their playoffs. The earliest Bowe could come back is Week 15. Normally we would recommend that you immediately jettison Bowe from your lineup, because you need as much roster flexibility as you can get for your playoff push. However, the Chiefs host Cleveland the week Bowe returns, a matchup that could garner big numbers for the second-year receiver. If you can spare the space, hold on to Bowe and have him as an option should you be in a playoff game that week.

The Kansas City Chiefs announced Tuesday, Nov. 17, that the National Football League has suspended WR Dwayne Bowe for four games for 'violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances.' Bowe's suspension will begin immediately.

The Huddle Take: There's a surprise. Bowe hasn't exactly been a Fantasy stud, with only 466 yards and four TDs on the season, but he was at least a serviceable option most weeks. Chris Chambers now becomes the No. 1 receiver most likely, with Lance Long serving as the No. 2.

ESPN.com, reports the Kansas City Chiefs are not expected to trade WR Dwayne Bowe prior to the trade deadline, particularly with Bowe's production improving during the course of the season.

The Huddle Take: Bowe could have some fairly significant Fantasy value down the road, and be worth a start if bye week or matchup problems warrant.

The Carroll County Times, reports there is nothing concrete to the rumors that the Baltimore Ravens are interested in acquiring Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe for two draft choices.

The Huddle Take: There certainly sounds like there could be at least some truth in these rumors as Bowe would make a nice addition to any NFL team. The Chiefs will likely be looking to fill several positions in the offseason and adding some additional draft picks should only aid this effort. Bowe remains a decent No. 2 wideout for fantasy teams with upside this season.

CBSSports.com reports Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe (hamstring) came out of the team's Week 4 game with no further injury to his right hamstring, according to head coach Todd Haley. Haley said, "He worked hard to play last week and he got through the game with no problems. That should help him getting ready this week."

The Huddle Take: Good news for Bowe owners. Look for him to be in the lineup ready to roll this weekend. He's not in a great situation for fantasy points, but considering the situation, he's as good as can be expected.

CBSSports.com reports Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe's (hamstring) status for Week 4 is up in the air, according to head coach Todd Haley. Bowe might not practice early in the week. Haley said the team wants to make sure Bowe is recovered before they put him back on the field.

The Huddle Take: This will likely be one of those 'game time decisions' that drives fantasy owners nuts. Look for Bobby Wade and Mark Bradley to get the majority of the work on this weekend. Be wary of starting Bowe unless you hear definitively that he'll be starting.

CBSSports.com reports Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe appears to be completely out of head coach Todd Haley's doghouse. Haley was unhappy with Bowe's focus and effort early in the preseason and demoted him, but Bowe has worked his way back and took all of his snaps during the team's afternoon practice Wednesday, Aug. 26.

The Huddle Take: Was there ever any question that by the time the regular season started Bowe would be the No. 1 wideout in Kansas City. Fantasy owners should once again expect solid numbers from Bowe who could light it up once again when he develops a solid connection with new quarterback Matt Cassell.

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe, who has been demoted to third string recently, stepped up in the team's preseason game Saturday, Aug. 15, against the Houston Texans. Bowe caught a team-high five catches for 70 yards during the game.

The Huddle Take: It would be hard to imagine Bowe not being the No. 1 receiver in Kansas city by the start of the season as this was likely just something to get his attention. Look for Bowe to post some consistent numbers in the new and improved Chiefs offense with Matt Cassell at the controls.

Adam Teicher, of The Kansas City Star, reports Kansas City Chiefs head coach Todd Haley said he wants to see WR Dwayne Bowe be more aggressive when going after the ball and show that he wants it more than the defender. Haley recently said he has seen improvement in that regard with Bowe. "I thought he probably made one of his better plays of the camp (Tuesday, Aug. 11) on the sideline," Haley said. "He competed for the football and made a play. Today it looked like he was competing for the football and with the football."

The Huddle Take: The new coach is making an example of Bowe, but it's difficult to believe he won't be the Chiefs' No. 1 receiver by the time the regular season starts.

The Kansas City Star reports Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe was given plenty of chances Tuesday, Aug. 11, to prove he's better than a third-string receiver. The passes kept going Bowe's way, and he kept dropping them. The Chiefs, as reported, listed Bowe as third-string on their initial depth chart. The team's receivers were working in a drill where a coach would immediately smack them with a blocking pad after catching the ball. During the drill, Bowe could not secure the football. 'This group as a whole needs work,' Chiefs head coach Todd Haley said. Haley has had Bowe's eyes checked for poor vision, his cleats checked to improve his routes and has given Bowe verbal abuse. The team is trying to get Bowe to improve on his inconsistencies. Haley wouldn't admit, or deny, that the demotion of Bowe was a motivational ploy.

The Huddle Take: Many have Bowe listed fairly high on their rankings list and this doesn't make for comforting news. The team will likely have some struggles, with a new QB on board, but not catching the ball isn't a good thing for what was supposed to be a number one receiver. Brings to mind flashbacks of Braylon Edwards last year. Monitor the situation closely.
